Title: Asics spikes - blanks
Post by: DiscoStu on August 15, 2014, 11:15:13 AM
I am playing on an astro wicket tomorrow so no spikes allowed. I have a pair of the Asics Speed Menace boots, do the blanks that are provided give any grip on a damp outfield?  Do Asics do a golf-style soft plastic spike separately. I know they are provided with the Gel Advance but I haven't seen them on sale separately. I don't want to wear trainers as my toe is still healing from being pinned by a yorker earlier in the season.

Thanks in advance.

(Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, couldn't find any thread on this)

Do you have a Sports direct local to you mate ? Id maybe try to get hold of some pimples... I used to use them in school cricket on our astro if we were ever away at a terror school !! They work a treat

My gel gully's came with a full set of rubbers, should be easy to get hold of some.

Thanks for the advice. In the end I borrowed a team-mates rubber-soled boots. Size 11 feet in 9.5 boots for an afternoon was a bit painful.

It still makes me wonder why Asics don't sell the moulded cleats separately?
