Any help would be greatly appreciated...got this for a mate and this happened after first use.

Doesn't look to bat, leave the anti scuff sheet on and get the fiber tape across the bat in that area

I would hate to tape it across the bat as it's right where the middle of the bat is.

I doubt it will, but if you are concern about it then do a vertical fiber tape in that area.

Thanks,
I think that is my best option at the moment.
-
Maybe put some oil on it too and let it absorb for couple of days before applying scuff sheet and fiber tape

I agree

Little rub with fine sand paper. Nothing to worry about at all
-
All bats should crack give it a light sanding with fine paper which will visually reduce it then as suggested cover with vertical fibreglass or clear edge tape.

Wasn't worth lifting the scuff sheet for lol.
Tape the sheet back down and forget about it mate :)

Thanks guys...sanded it a bit and added a new scuff sheet along with fiber tape on the edges. I also added shoe goo on the toe.
Thanks again for quick responses and awesome advice.
