Hi all.
After breaking my Bradbury, I was offered store credit to spend in store at GCCC in Australia. After waiting about 5 months for the new stock I am the proud new owned of a GM Maestro F2 707. Although it isnt the best looking piece of timber, its performing exceptionally well after about 3 hours of knocking in. With a mid-low middle, She weighs 2.5 and I was impressed that the shape allowed for this weight, mind you it is academy size. 36mm edges after 3 hours of knocking in so were probably a little bigger before the photo. Overall pretty impressed with this bat, have GM changed their pressing as this bat does feel softer than GM's of previous years. Was also extremely impressed with the GM Mogul, GM are producing some great profiles and great bats for the australian market at the moment.

Apologies for the low quality images, had to take them on my phone.
Also added some string to the toe shot to show the tiny amount of concaving.

I picked up a Mogul LE at under 2.8 that absolutely pings off the mallet and tapping a ball up on it. Compared to the Shane Watson Player Edition I had last year that left me decidedly unimpressed, this thing is a cannon! I had a hard time picking between the Maestro and the Mogul and only went with the Mogul as it had slightly better pick up. I agree that GM are definitely a LOT softer pressed this season and by far the best in quite a few seasons.

Nice mate. Stickers look great too.

Big fan of that profile, closest I've seen to the custom one I've been using this year (and it really is a gun!).

Good morning and my compliments on a quality bat. The Maestro takes me back to a time when the only 20/20 was Mad Dog 2020 (for those too young to remember google/ Urban Dictionary it). S Waugh's formidable cover drive showing the maker's name for the whole world to see.
My first cricket set was based around a junior GM Maestro and included a pair of buckle pads. I remember the panic of wondering whether I had used enough oil. This was before I knew about having to actually knock a bat in... (hangs head in shame).
Thank you for a good Sunday morning reminisce. I hope it scores you a bucket load of runs.
