SO i was training last thursday night at our pre season here in AUS and felt like my new kooka Viper pro players which i received off Australia A Leg spinner Cam Boyce was not performing at its best. Went to have another net on friday and noticed something on the splice which was just mud.
To my horror i then discovered these!! :o :o :o
identical on both shoulders and run down the back of the bat.
My heart is telling me i can fix it but my head is saying its destined for the bon fire.
Anyone got any suggestions??

Initial thought - firewood.
Maybe try a glue and clamp then wrap some twine or tape round the shoulder but no guarantee it'll last.
-
Thats my initial thoughts as well,
i was thinking the same with glue and tape but dont think she will last long, thinking possibly some industrial strength stuff and try and get a syringe deep in the crack

ouchhhh...doesn't look too good bud. I had same problem with one of my bats...its sitting in my closet right now :(

Cooked

At least have a go.
Drill it and dowel it and tape it. Might get a season out of it.

im going to give it a go just looking for some ideas
I have my ideas but just seeing what others suggest

My beloved Salix Pod broke much like that. After sitting in the loft for over a year I thought I'd give it a go and took it to Solitaire. After being glued and rehandled it looked like new. It sometimes doesn't sound good, especially when hit by the splice. However, its still goes like stink and has been my match bat for the last 2 seasons now :D

Had a gm that broke like that after a few weeks, nothing I could do about it, was completely dead. Luckily I was provided a swap by the shop I bought it from.

Seen that type of damage many times if you want to use the bat do as suggested and then see how long it lasts. Even when repaired that sort of damage can create problems with the handle.
-
Probably caused by the handle fitting not being correct. Get the bat re handled by local bat maker or shop and if the fill the cracks and clamp it then add a new well fitted handle may well last a while mate but no promise can be made with that repair.
-
Why not give it back to Cam Boyce and ask for another? I imagine he'd have more luck sending it back to Kook and getting a replacement?

Agree. Had a hunts like that and it was as good as new once rehandled and glued.

Agreed, took a few to Roger at Solitaire similar to this - the handle isn't fitted properly. Take it to your local bat maker and get it rehandled, glued and fixed up.

Incidentally the bat I had from an Aussie pro, meg lanning, broke in identical fashion.
Will see if I have any photos left of it.

Fill the crack with glue, clamp, dowel it and then twine or tape....
Maybe it can work...
Cheers...

I had the same thing happen to a bat of mine. Glued and clamped it but didn't last long. I assume adding twine and dowel might help, it's worth a shot.
Good luck, I would be mortified if i got hold of a pro bat and never got to use it.

not going to believe it, Broke my 2nd bat in 5 days last night at training. Will have a 2nd thread on it later. is another bizzare one.

Thats exactly how my bradbury broke and I got a warranty claim.
