My beloved mongoose has a crack through the toe. I want to repair it but I'm not sure wether to attempt to do it myself or send it to someone.

If it is better to repair it myself how would I go about it?
And if I were to send it away where is the best place and what price would it be?
Thanks for any help

Looks wide enough to get plenty of pva wood glue in that. Do that then clamp it. In theory it should hold as the glue is stronger than the wood.

I've got some wood adhesive which I have used a lot before but I'm not sure how to get the glue deep into the crack.

Try to open the crack a bit with a blunt knife, pour plenty of adhesive over the area of the crack, leaving a lot of excess, then use a drinking straw to blow as much adhesive in as possible, then wipe off the excess.

Drinking straw is a good tip. I would also suggest working out your clamping solution well in advance, before you add any glue to the joint. You don't want the glue going off while your fiddling about with the clamping.

It's even done now I tested the clamp before I glued it and am just waiting for it to dry now.
