A team mate has recently bought a Gray-Nicolls Powerbow Generation X Strike.

He's very happy with it and it goes very well but what has intrigued me is the profile. From what I have previously seen from a offset edge profile is that the thickest edges are lower than highest part of the spine. With this GN profile it looks the other way around.
I take it this extends the middle downwards while the other way around extends a lower middle upwards. Are there any other bats with this GN offset profile?

Just the Powerbow Gen X has this. Not seen any other bat in the market with one like it. I actually asked Andy at SAF once if this way round would work too, but he said it wouldn't at all. I'm not sure, I know that the theory of the offset edge is to lengthen the playing area, but I've had plenty of bats without offset edges which have playing areas just as big. I think that the balance is the biggest advantage of an offset edge.

The offset edges improve pick-up to my knowledge, anyone know of other things they do?

Doesnt it extend the length of the middle?

I've used an Affinity Phantom which has offset edges.
I was looking to buy it off a mate but found it put too much of the pick up towards the toe, but I use mid to high middle bats usually so it didn't suit my playing style.

b3 db3 has them also. It will be the new must have.
I'm sure you can offset it the other way too with the spine remaining higher at the toe whilst the edge peaks in the middle and tappers off to the toe.

Yes the offset edge profile is designed to lengthen the middle also improve pickup and balance IMO the thicker the edges nearer the handle the better the pickup.
