Title: Batmaking tools
Post by: Kulli on August 28, 2014, 07:24:44 AM
Having finally acquired a couple of clefts for H4L, I'd appreciate it if someone could let me know the basic tools I'll need to give this a crack over the winter.

I most certainly will.

First of all what is the easiest shape to go for first up?

Depends on the tools you've got but I'd go for a none concaved traditional shape, 30mm edge, 65mm plus spine with a duckbill toe shape.

At the moment I have no tools bar an orbital sander, so I'll sort that situation our first.

Think I have a spare drawknife with a slightly curved blade available if you're interested, think I got it from Ryan (? or someone off this forum!) a while back and have barely used it after coming across another one.
