Title: Linseed Oil
Post by: ioand1988 on September 04, 2014, 04:51:22 PM
Does Linseed Oil go out of date?

I have a 10 year old bottle of Newbery Bat Oil and just wanted to know if it's worth keeping or not.

Thanks

Don't think so. I have just finished a bottle of my late grandads which was bought pre-decimalisation.

Keep it, linseed oil last donkeys years. Strangely if kept in the dark it goes darker, put it in sunlight and it lightens in colour.

My bottle is now about four years old, and gets kept in the dark except when in use.
I love it as it gives bats that nice honey colour from day one.

Thanks for the feedback, guess I won't be throwing it...
