Anyone got any updates on the new range?
-
Does anyone have any images of the new County Aura range? I'm interested in the softs as I have heard there are some funky colours being used this year!
-
Aura is black with some rainbow coloured trim :)
Hunts can sometimes be a little slow off the mark with their catalogues etc, but i have posted photos of the new Insignia bats that are available. Much of the rest of the range hasn't changed much aside from the addition of the Aura range. I'll get some photos next time I am there.

There we go, good find. :)

Cheers, I had seen the bat. I was after a shot of the keeping gloves and batting gloves if possible. No joy so far on my initial searches.
-
All images of the new aura kit and new bat sticker designs will be on the www.martinberrillsports.com (http://www.martinberrillsports.com) site hopefully by the middle of next week. Already got most of the bats on there

Thanks, I am looking forward to seeing/buying some if they have the same colours as the bat in them!

Does anyone know much about the history of hunts? I understand that tony is still making bats in Huntingdon, but I'm fairly certain the county reflex's I had in the late 80's and early 90's were made by Martin Berrill.
Martin still stocks a lot of hunts kit - did he make bats for them or have I imagined it? Does he still make bats in Gloucester?
-
I think Martin keeps his hand in, but it's more retail than making in gloucester now.
-
i visitied martin 18 months ago just to have a browse. they have a decent size workshop and other custom made bats. they stocked mainly hunts but a few other brands. not sure how bats they make but must be a few by what i saw
-
Yes. I wonder if he makes the blank Hunts they sell?
-
It would be a shame if he doesn't make bats any more. One of the reflex 8 stars he made me was the best bat I ever used...
-
I also had a lovely Berrill reflex I picked from a batch of unstickered bats for my 21st
-
It'd be interesting to see a bat that Martin makes and compare to one of Tony's creations.

No Triumph in the new range, seriously disappointing! Was going to be my kit for next year!

i nearly went for the same range last year. ending up getting a set of softs second hand that i have as my wet weather/net kit quite like them altough i still prefer the look of split finger gloves

Im sure you can still find them on line for a while. I did find some triumph pads and gloves on eBay after a quick search.
-
Triumph will almost certainly still be available. I will check and confirm for you next time I am there. What size are you for softs?

Hi mate,
Shape is no problem, we get many bats made as copies of peoples existing bats. It is easier of course if i have the bat in order to give to Hunts, but we have 'made do' with pictures before with good results.
Pressing, grains etc no problem. In terms of the cleft weight, i have never had such a request but i don't see a problem.
I can't give you a choice of clefts i am afraid but i am always happy to pick out the best one available (heavily influenced by the bat makers advice of course) to suit your needs.

I took a look. Something I have never seen before. A drop down menu about grains, narrow, average, broad. I wonder if it gets fulfilled or it is just a guide?
-
Goodness knows. Worth a call to find out?
-
Martin Berill Sports have still got Triumph softs in LH and RH plus a few bats all I Believe are in the sale section.

Gah! :o As much as I admire their tradition, craftsmanship, and the desire to appeal to cricketing yoof, I'm pretty sure I saw that Aura design on a shiny tracksuit from the 1980s.
Not for my kit bag, I'm afraid.
