Title: Games in a season
Post by: Silver Bullet on September 07, 2014, 03:33:07 AM
Just wondering how many games everybody plays here in a season.

For me personally.
T20: 16-18
50 overs: 2-3
2-3 day: 0

Looking to play a bit more of the 50 over variety starting next season.

Last year I got 65 on play crixket but about 5 more on top. This year I'm on 54 on play cricket but a fair few others not on there. That's with about 8-9 cancelled too :(

Don't know the breakdown off the top of my head.

Usual season is 16/18 league games and a few preseason friendlies.

This year 6 league games and a few friendlies and then I didn't play anymore mainly due to politics

Number of games played as dropped from 52 10 years ago to 8 Saturday league in 2014  ( 6 cancelled due to weather and 1 opposition could not raise a Side  all of which I could have played) missed others due to visiting elderly parents 200 miles away plus 2 Sunday matches. Don' t play midweek anymore due to difficulty getting to grounds for 6pm due to traffic congestion and the Matches being 6 or 8 ball overs depending on the light  with a maximum of 13 per side also dependent on the light.
shall be looking to play more on Sundays in 2015 friendlys if possible but most clubs near me are in leagues.

Here in NZ in Taranaki we have a 8 team top division, where each team plays seven 50 over games, seven 2-day games (split over two weekends), and 3 t20 games. Then we have semis and finals for all of these competitions with the 2-day final being a 3-day match played on Pukekura Park!
So all up we play 17 games a season.

Played 12 league games, would of been 17 but 5 were rained off. Sunday I suspect around 6 friendlies and 3 vets games. So far 22, but would of been 30+ had the weather been better and is/oppo not cried off 3-4. Gutted I haven't got a game this weekend when it sunny and 20c! Not sure whether I will get many more, have a vets game Sunday but that's about it.

Saturday side play 22 games in the season.

1 game left, we've had 2 rained off (1 after the first innings) and I missed one game in the middle of the season. We've won 17, lost 2, 2 NR's.

Played sporadically on Sundays, but admit to losing some interest in that kind of cricket.

Usually between 40 and 60, though I did once bat 119 times in a season (don't know how many games that was, but suspect it came to close on 140!)

Since moving to London my cricket has drastically reduced sadly - only managed around 14 games this year, hopefully it'll pick up next season!
