Title: Is this now the end to #blamekp!
Post by: smilley792 on September 09, 2014, 12:48:32 PM
It is for me anyway.

So kp made himself available for surrey, and was not selected. Kp himself has said that it was surrey's decisions, and it is to give the youth opportunity.

I personally believe it's because he's shown not one ounce of commitment or want, so they've binned him. Just like England did.

I'm kinda Dissapointed in it all, I'd like to have seen kp star for surrey this year, smashe 2000 runs in the county championship, and prove to England they made a big mistake.
But he didn't he went mercenary, played only t20 stuff, and kinda showed that he's only interested in himself.

Maybe England were right......

I'm a massive KP fan but must admit I have been very disappointed in him not playing any FC cricket this season. What better way to show England they were wrong than to smash some CC runs? If he was averaging 70 this season there would have been uproar from everyone and no way could they have ignored him. Especially after the Sri Lanka series.

Presume his contract includes hefty match appearance fees. With virtually no chance of promotion, no chance of additional ticket sales (neither are weekend games) there's no point playing him. Those games are pretty much dead rubbers and a time to give youth a chance.

England were definitely right.

^Yup. Look how they've soared to ascendancy since dropping him :D

if I was KP I would of sacrificed one year of IPL/big bash/any other 20 over game, and batted for Surrey in the Championship and scored buckets of runs to put pressure on the decision to drop him

But he did'nt do that,he did the opposite...

England were right to get rid of him admittedly they handled it very badly and it was a PR disaster...
More interested why Surrey dropped him in favour of playing younger players, you would think they would want to play KP for a few more bums on seats in the crowd

Surely he can't of upset another County? :)

Really helps himself... He's  upset every county he's been at so far, wouldn't doubt him doing it at Surrey either really!

He has obviously moved on and enjoying himself so should the fans.

Massive loss to English Cricket, game changers like KP don't grow on trees.

KP surely wasn't in enough form to be picked? Hardly got runs in t20 tournaments across the world and his last red ball knock was in Sydney. If Surrey had picked him I think it would have been an odd message to send

Still don't think KP was solely to blame for the England issues, just wish everyone would move on and sto giving piers Morgan something to bleat on about

Don't think he has, just a  common sense decision all round.
I've said before the selectors got this one massively wrong, but there was never going to be a golden season smashing division 2 attacks - firstly, everyone could see it was a crap decision so what was the point, secondly even KP could see it was one that was never, ever going to change.  I also wonder if there is a thirdly - namely that his knees couldn't stand 96 overs a day four days a week plus training and one dayers, every week for five plus months...

KP splits opinion on this forum, down my club, down your club and down just about everyone's club I reckon :)

I've no doubt myself England got the best years out of him,he won games for us single handedly, he also used England to raise his profile, created controversy just because of the type of personality he is,and batted sometimes better than even his England team mates could dream about, while us club players just looked on in awe sometimes.

I reckon England knew physically he was on the wane and deceided they would not tolerate him in the dressing room any longer-it was just not worth the investment.

We don't really know thou for sure, he will have a book coming out shortly, as maybe will Swann,or maybe some other England player....we might find out the details then....

i wonder where he will be playing next year. can imagine he is to high on any t20 teams wanted listed given the season he has just had and how much money he would want.

i really liked watching him as a player he did well for england but everybody's careers come to an end at some point

Does his Surrey contract extend into next season?

I just personally don't think he'll ever be able to 'fit in' to a county like any of the other players. Notts, Hampshire, Surrey... Recurring trend starting to appear. I wouldn't  be surprised to see him on the move quite regularly til the end of his career personally.

He hangs around with Piers Morgan. That alone should be enough for anyone to sway their opinions.

I think he'll play t20 anywhere in the world for the highest bidder (including in England). Realistically Surrey are one of few clubs who can afford him in England although he doesn't really have much emotional ties with them.

Can't see him playing much red ball cricket again, is there really any point as he'll never get back to playing test cricket

KP will always be the best player in English cricket history, the reason why he was dropped after the ashes is still unclear to me considering he was the highest English runs scorer in that series. Pluse he was the only one that took the fight to the Aussies.

Best Wishes
Hennie

I'm looking forward to his autobiography, can guess at an abridged version though.

Lived in SA
Played cricket - was good at it.
Fell out with a bloke at a club
Moved to England to play cricket, was really good at it.
Signed for Notts.
Played for England, I'm the dogs dangleies.
Got stupid hairstyle - I'm a celebrity.
Fell out with everyone at Notts - moved to Hampshire.
Carried on playing for England, I am #KPGenius
Sent texts to South Africans slagging off Strauss, got dropped.
Fake apology, played for England again.
Everyone at Hampshire hates me, Surrey pay more anyway.
Dropped from England, Strauss said I'm a c**t.
Playing only T20, earning loads.

Got it on pre order but it depends how much is sensored as to how much it actually tells us!
When does the confidentiality clause in his contract end?? We may never find out the truth about some things
