Bat 2 - Is another Performance laminate bat. This one weighs in at 2lb 12 oz. I had this one made for myself but ended up not using it. It has no concaving, 13 grains and 40mm edges. Big bat with big performance. In our sale for £260

Bat 3 - This was my match bat for this season. Made with only performance in mind, although it is also a very very nice looking bat. Its 2lb 10oz, has 13 grains and 40mm edges. A slight blemish on one edge but as I said this was selected for performance. Its an absolute gun, although it was somewhat wasted on me this season !! Only been used 4 times so is practically brand new. Looking for £180 for this lovely bat.

Lovely examples Kieron, would love to get my hands on the heavier laminate - someone's going to get a beauty for next season!
-
That light lam looks awesome

Yes very nice Alvaro. It was made in a batch of 2. The other went at the start of the season and this one has remained in the back room of my shop under the counter !!
-
what is your match bat for next season then keiron? i imagine its going to be a beaut
-
set of golf clubs !!
-
Love that match bat from last season!
That profile and lack of concaving looks awesome!!
-
Yes it's awesome Pete. Just wish I had it a few years ago !!
-
What's the advantage of having a laminated bat? I have used CA 9000 before, but didn't notice any big difference...
-
Unlike the made in Pakistan ones the made in UK ones are performance laminates.
They are mainly laminated for performance reason and not to increase edge size or bulk of bat.
That is why they are way expensive as compared to ca ones
-
Have you had any offers for bat number 3 yet?
I'm quite interested.
-
some lovely looking bats. Would be interested in the laminates as a net bat, if they were cheaper. Surely they should be at least half that price, considering you cant even use them in matches...

Yes, the batmaker will go through the extra effort of making one, from the same materials pretty much, it performs even better, and charge less for it. Makes sense. ;)
All look like absolute crackers, how does your ex-match bat compare to the laminates? Looks fantastic, just a chunky bat all round!
-
Job to tell Chad as I didn't use it that much. Off the mallet it's as good as the laminates I have used but I was so bad this season I don't think I hit one out the screws with it.

Makes perfect sense as I said you cannot use these bats in matches. Also a bat maker makes bats, extra effort or not , its their job. Performance is better is a another debate as per the laminate threads on this forum. £260 is steep for a net bat is all im saying :)

Then go and buy a net bat from MSR! These are made for the people who want an illegal bat. There's such a small market for these, that a bat maker won't bother if he has to charge less. Yes, it's their jobs, and it's also their products. They will charge what they deem fit, just as they will choose what they make. You will pay for what you think is worth spending your money on.

Pretty much sums up most of my season! Looks lovely, may have to see if I can dig out any bats for a trade in!

Why have a net bat anyway ?
Have you ever picked the seam when playing cricket ? Have you ever not walked when you nick one behind ?
What standard do you play zawarrior ?
-
hypothetically, how much would it cost to have one of those lams made to specification?
-
Why have a net bat anyway ?
So your decent match bat doesn't end up getting damaged by the plebs using cheap bat breaker balls!
Because we train even if the nets are wet, so you don't want your match bat getting damp.
Prolong the life of your match bat.
-
Fair point. Should try and improve your nets as well as you need to practice with the bat you are going to use in a match.
-

Around £300

I have never picked the seam and have always walked when nicked it. Play in middlesex league championship. Played in the premier league for stanmore since i was 14. Have played for middle U17 u19 and 2nd XI. Not the greatest player but not the worst either
-
Laminates probably not for you then.
Which team do you play for ?
-
Harrow
Claim to fame batted with aravinda da silva and outscored him many years ago http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/2361400/Peploe-lifts-Ealing-to-share-of-top.html (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/2361400/Peploe-lifts-Ealing-to-share-of-top.html)

Net bats should be half that price at least ? :)
-
You should not have a net bat. Just use 1 bat.
Was it harrow you played for this year ?
-
Yes buddy
-
Out of interest which one of the 3 is the best performing? Longest and widest middle?
-
Net bats should be half that price at least ? :)
I can use one in my league. No-one would check my bat.
There is no point buying a net bat, unless it is almost identical in weight and balance to your match bat.
-
Great looking bats and lovely profiles. But why spend that much on lam's if you can't use them in matches?
I have a 3.5lb Vantage Custom lam and it is and absolute beast. And the ball absolutely rockets off of it. And I still feel it needs a bit more knocking in.
-
Bump of these bats. Bat number 2 sold, the others are still available.
Thanks
-
I thought bat number 3 was sold?
That's what you told me in a PM. ???
-
Available again now. Pm me and it's yours. Thanks.
