This rather painful event did result in some blood and is still affecting me this morning
It now means i have broken 5 pieces of equipment this season and we only played round 1 on Saturday!
Jokes are encouraged

How did this happen? How quick was the bowler?
-
How do you think it happened, i missed a good length ball and it hit me in the kahunas. bowler was about 135km/h but i am only guessing from what i have faced before
-
I have (or had) no idea which is why I asked.
-
why do you bat with a pen in your box? dictation?

I played in a game years ago where one of the oppo batsmen took one square in the box from one of our quicker bowlers. The box split inwards and as the split closed up caught a bit of him in it!! Never seen someone run around in so much pain, or laughed as hard in my life!!! :D

In a nutshell, thats basically happened to me. Not overly pleasant

On cricket tour last month I was fielding at short mid off. Feeling less than 100% due to two days on the sauce, I perhaps wasn't as sharp as I could have been. As it was tour, pretty much everyone gets a bowl and one of our guys was attempting his offies. He's looped one up, the batsman has come running down the track and absolutely melted it straight at me. I didn't have time to do anything other than let it hit my right testicle and catch it against myself. Managed to hold it, but the pain was instant. I could barely move and only managed to stand up after about 5 minutes or so where I gingerly made my way to slip for the last 2 overs.
I was in a lot of pain for the next 2 days, I had 3 different unlucky doctors examine my now hugely swollen gonad and an ultrasound. Luckily there seems to be no serious damage other than swelling, but it's still at least 3 times the size of the other one almost a month later.
Still, at least everyone (including myself if I'm honest) got a decent laugh out of it!

TangoWhiskey I can fully sympathise there.
As a right arm bowler, I was once bowling left arm to try and give some runs away (don't you love Sunday beer matches!)
The batsman nails one straight back at me, testicle height, I cant get out the way and didn't get my hand there quick enough.
I did get a C&B to my name, but I also ended up on the floor unable to move for a while, then sat with an ice pack on my nadz for the next half hour, one of the most painful feelings ever!
Looking back I can laugh, but at the time it definitely wasn't funny (for me anyway, everyone else thought it was hilarious!)

Haha did you swell up? I've been told that the swelling may be permanent and than the only way to get it to go down if it doesn't naturally will be to have it drained. Something which sounds more horrific than the 100mph cricket ball to the teste that caused it in the first place!

I thought Bumble had the copyright on this happening?

I did indeed mate, and went a wonderful shade of purple down there!
The swelling didn't fully go down for 2-3 months, the thought of having it drained would've probably scared me into a recovery! I have a total phobia of needles so that sounds like my worse nightmare
-
mine luckily is yet to swell but there is obviously a wound to deal with. Had another net this arvo and was rather sheepish. tomorrow will be interesting

Haha mine didn't bruise funnily enough, was red for a few days though. I'm glad your's went down by itself, hopefully mine will do the same!

The ones that you think you have 'gotten away with' - then reality 'kicks' in - hate those! :o

Last match of the season I copped an unusual one playing a foreward defensive to the opening bowler the ball somehow went under the bat pitched and hit me underneath the box pinning my testicle half in and half out the box much to the entertainment of everyone in pain and lopsided i could not walk properly for a fortnight.
