i have them and love them, but i have left the hippad in, i tried with it out and got hit there and used to get hit there a lot

Yeah i also have them. I think they are really catching on and will replace standard thigh pads in a few seasons. I keep my hip guard in, quite like the feeling of it. Increase confidence no end.

Yep love mine!  Took hip guard out though, don't get much bounce in England

By far the best piece of kit Aero have released I reckon, wear them every game, regardless of wicket or quality of bowlers! So much better than traditional thigh pads.

Haven't got a pair but I am looking into getting some because of the reviews they have been getting!  Are they worth the £40 over say £20 for a normal thigh pad?
Title: Re: Strippers
Post by: Arthur on May 18, 2008, 05:17:09 PM
Yep, really worth it, they're just soo much better! And there is an inner thigh pad too, for added protection, which, trust me, you'll love when you get hit there!

Is there a major difference from them and padmans?
Title: Re: Strippers
Post by: Arthur on May 18, 2008, 05:22:28 PM
Not sure as I haven't used Padmans, but the ones I have seen look terribly flimsy and thin, so won't offer much protection? One things for sure, with the Aero's you'll be happy you spent your money on them, or that's the way I think about it anyway.

I have them, they are very easy too run in but do get quite sweaty. Have not been hit there yet but I reckin the protection is very good

The strippers are by far the best mass produced thigh guards on the market.  They are so comfy and offer so much protection they cannot be looked past.

Have you tried the Fusion thigh pads? They look as if they might be good and while I'm by no means saying that they are necessarily better, I don't think you can make such a statement without trying other alternatives.

Saw an M&H rip-off of the strippers yesterday, they looked poor in comparison but had the same features with admittedly less protection but for only £15! That's a bargain for those who can't afford P1/2

Love mine lasted almost 2 seasons and feel really good the more I've worn them good to run in and great protection. And will the M&H ones neccesarily have the same standard of protection?

I've had Slaz and Gray Nics ones. Only use padmans when my Skins are in the wash, to keep my box in.

I have strippers and liek most people discarded the hip protoector - they are great however my straps now feel bit tight around the thighs - probably need a bigger size. Although i'm contempalting getting some Remfry gear.

Refry are great if you have 160+ to spend on thigh guards!
Title: Re: Strippers
Post by: Tom on July 05, 2008, 01:08:25 AM
Thigh guards last ages though if you look after them correctly. I'm sure Steve has spoken of pro's having had his thigh pads for 10 years+ and bear in mind they'll practice more often than any of us regular folk. Strippers from using them don't seem the most robust piece of gear.

If you have $160, want a good product and one that's last Remfry seems a good option. I've only seen one set belonging to a friend who plays ICL cricket, but the quality seemed very good.

I think that Remfry's look very tatty for a price tag of $160. You would have thought they would take time and finish them perfectly. Maybe thats just my view though.

James Bradford at Slogit?

The prices are usually the same though, the retailers get upset when one company sells too cheap! There's a special pricing formula in the cricket business where they times the Trade Price by 0.88 prices rarely deviate much from that.

With Remfry and other custom thigh pads such as Ace you are paying for a product to do a job, not look good. The fact is the materials used by Remfry offer the very best protection, they are exactly how you want them to your specification and in some cases even moulded to the exact shape of your leg for the most precise of fits. And as previously pointed out some players have had the same set of Remfry for many a season, and thats playing week in week out, month after month. They are on a complete different level to Aero strippers and any other product out there and anyone who has used them will tell you the same.
