Anyone else see the news on twitter that Blenheim is under new ownership? Perhaps we will see them make a comeback here on the forum?
-
Yup, were purchased a while ago I believe. Surprised they're only announcing it now, but I guess it may have been too late to get everything sorted out. (I think it was October or November last year)

Hi
Yes you are correct in what you have said. But due to a career change the previous owner had put Blenheim up for sale in August 2014. I decided to have a go at something I have always wanted to do. Home for us is Norfolk. My cricketing background is player, coach ECBCA level 2, Umpire ECBACO Level 1, club Secretary, girls county youth manager and county ladies team ( now retired from management duties). Both daughters have played county age group cricket and still play club cricket.
We are looking to update the website and other social media outlets (handy having teenage daughters).
We intend to have a bigger presence on the forum than in recent years. With regards the range of equipment we hope to add the keeping gear that was successful in the past and possibly bags. Plus anything else that people want to see us stock.
Would like to know what the people that matters, you the buyers of the brand are looking for. So please let me know.
Thanks Chris

Do you play for Melton by any chance Chris?
What's in the pipeline for 2015?

Hi Wayward
Yes I do how you doing, girls missed your coaching skills this summer.
2015 kit will be led by what the customers are looking for. I have my ideas but really want your input to help shape the brand for the future.
-
Wish you all the best, was also looking at possibly going for the Blenheim brand myself, but looks like you were the one who beat me to it! (Great that I missed out in hindsight, wouldn't have been able to manage it!) Hopefully you guys get a good start, and if you ever think of sponsoring the forum, follow Aldred's example, and always post up pictures of bats which go out! ;)

Thanks for the advice Chad and guess it is watch this space regarding the forum.

I missed them so much that I moving back to Norfolk on Thursday! Got a cottage in Wymondham so will be back at Melton playing and coaching next summer. Can't wait is an understatement!
I would be more than happy to help you out, I have used all sort of kit over the last few years and think I have some expertise that may help you out. Gimme a personal message if you want to arrange anything.

Good luck! Given that I live in suffolk it's always good when another brand comes to East Anglia as it puts some quality bat porn in visiting reach. The father-in-law is a wood turner and woodworker so has a partial interest in how willow is pressed which is nice on a bat makers front - I just like shiny new bats and then keep them pristine by not hitting anything!
-
Good on you Chris. Always great to people out there giving it a go in our great game. Looking forward to seeing some of your gear on here soon.
-
We would like to say thank you to everyone who has commented on this post, sent us personal messages with ideas and the many emails of support we have received. Any more ideas for kit etc. will be more than welcome.
We will keep you posted as we start to get things organised for the future.

I am sure people will appreciate if you bring out a set of pads with adjustable strap lengths :-) or even better just two loops on either sides with removable pad straps which can be cut to desired lengths.

Thought it was time I updated everyone on what has been a very hectic few months. The website has been totally revamped and hopefully to everyone liking. Still a lot of work is need to be done on it, but it is getting near to where I want it to be.
The social media side of the brand has seen a very large increase in followers, thank you every one who follow us.
We are hoping to add a new bat to the range made by a new bat maker to us for a certain section of the market which will be a new direction for the brand, but will still be about quality and performance.
Hopefully some of you will like what we are doing and join the Blenheim brand, If not no problem and enjoy your cricket, we certainly will.
Many thanks
