Anyone seen this type of handle on a bat before?
Just noticed when I was cleaning up and old bat that I want copying for the coming season this handle, it's got a plastic sort of wrap on the handle and no apparent binding? I really quite like the handle as it adds weight I'm guessing which helps to balance the bat really nicely, is this a fairly uncommon thing because I've never had one before like this.

Must be done by the owner of bat. I have a few bats where I have removed the binding, applied sports/medical tape and like it better
-
Defo not done by the owner because that's me.
It looks like it was made like that?
I've never seen it before but quite like it? I may call the bat maker and ask.

Looks like tennis/squash racquet tape

The spiral you can see is from the grip that was on there it's a smooth solid piece of like a plastic/rubber type coating.
-
Am I being thick or do I just see a grip on the handle??
-
No it's not a grip,
I'll try to get some better pictures tomorrow.
-
Would it be heat shrink maybe?

This isn't a GN Matrix from the late 90s early 2000's is it?
This bat had a carbon fibre handle from memory. Not sure what it looked like under the grip though.

I had a matrix and the carbon fibre handle was black, much like a black ayrtek carbon helmet

The early Solitaire bats had plastic shrink instead of string binding.

I had a GN with a Tintanum handle that was like that cannot remember what model but under the plastic the handle there was a wraparound type bandage.

Snafu it is a solitaire so that explains it.
