As the title suggests I'd like to know how many times a bat can be refurbed...
I'd want to send my Maverick 4* to Gray Nics for a rehandle and general touch up, but as it had work on it at the end of last season (repairing a toe crack) would it be to much for the bat in terms of wood removed and weakening the bat as a whole?
Sorry if this comes across as a slightly silly question but I hope you lads get what I'm trying to say...
Thanks
Ollie

Just keep refurbing it until there's either no ping or no wood left mate!
GarrettJ sands his bat regularly and re-oils each time, so I can't see it being an issue :)

A full refurb general takes 1-2 ounces off of the bat but you've got to remember this will include any oil extra bat tape or other such things you add to the blade except the scuff sheet so 4 coats of oil and you will basically have your ounce back
-
Depends on the condition of the bat and what needs to or has been done before.
The bat may end up slightly Under width as your probably removing a mm or so off the width per refurb.
In theory is shouldn't really be noticeable or much of an issue.

I've had my current match bat 2 years and its have a few refurbs and has reduced in width from 108mm to 102mm, which is roughly a harrow width, so i'd say yes, a bat can have too may refurbs. It doesn't personally bother me, whats 6mm between friends?

2oz is a lot of wood for a refurb! You can disregard and like for like items (for example grips/ scuffs etc) as they will cancel themselves out.

So how many refurbs away are you from having a training bat?? Haha

Thanks for the answers guys, seeing as the bat has only had one refurb ill send it off soon and see what the results are...
What is the consensus on the 2015 Gray Nics stickers?
Any ideas what I should get put on the bat after it's refurb?
Thanks Ollie

Pretty out there?
Always an option...

A lot of people hate them, I don't know why I do but...
Also like the blue and yellow ones.

That reminds me, my absolute gem from you could do with a clean up and resticker before its third season!

I'm with you there mate on those omega stickers!! Quite intrigued by the shape too!
-
Would Omega stickers by applicable or are they specific to the Omega shape, like Nemesis stickers wouldn't work on anything but the Nemesis...

Grays are in the process of updating and re-issuing their repair/refurb price lists right now, i imagine info regarding stickers will be provided too when we get sent the updated lists in the next week or so.
