How do all....
I was wondering when you are told the weight of somebody's bat (for example pro's) is it the weight before the stickers are put onto the bat and that is the weight that is given or is it an overall thing??
Reason I ask is I recently visited a factory and had a custom made bat, which weighed 2.8 plain but once it had been finished(stickers, everything etc...) it now weighs 2.13 - could anybody give me a reason for this?!?!?!?
Cheers

loads and loads of grips put on?
dont they add a pounds a bit or so?
-
grips can add a fair bit (relatively speaking!), as can covers, toe guards, stickers... it all adds up.
-
yer tha's what I was thinking - now what about the Pro's aspect???
-
Also, we do the weight of a bat as being the deadweight with no grips/stickers.
This way it is consistent- two people can order the same bat, one can put 3 grips on, the other just one. However both bats are the same (originally) so should be described as having the same weight.

Grips are .8oz each, stickers 1oz
Was the 2lb 8oz measurement taken at Hunts? Where was the 2lb 13oz taken? Tony uses some right dodgy scales which may be part of the prob.

LOL yer it was at hunts matey!!! Went on Monday!!! WHAT A DAY!!!!!!!! AND WHAT AN AMZING MAN HE IS!!!
His scales looked like they had survived both world wars!
Whilst making my bat and finishing it it came out at 2.8(on his scales), but once I got home and got the trusty kitchen scales out it came in at 2.13 1/4. hmmmmmmmm

Haha, yeh it's Tony's scales more than anything. I love Hunts too, not where you expect a bat factory though!
Did you see any Mongeese there? Most importantly does the bat feel ok to use, if you didn't know the weight would you be ok to use it?

Saw so many Mongoose matey!!! Tony showed me how they are being made and everything!! I was having a rite old swing with them!! And my god..... Freddie's BAT!!! HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Didn't expect it to be there at all tbh!!! Almost got smashed up by 1 on the 4 million lorries along the A14!!!
It's feel's nice in the pick up, heavier than I have used before so that why I am unsure! I don't want to send it back to have some wood shaved off before using it in the nets, stressful times.... :(

Use it and if it's too heavy send it back, I think weight reduction is £10?

Thats not to bad then!!! I chose such a nice piece of willow, was amazed by how many there was to choose from! 14 grains, heartwood down the egde :D
