Title: That awful feeling...Delivery
Post by: King pair on October 09, 2014, 10:21:31 AM
Today I am feeling a large amount of anxiety. My new bat is being sent to my mums house who thought she was going to be in. shes had to go out for the day and that just leaves my grandma. but she's leaving at 12 and there will be NO ONE in the house. ive tried everything. ringing the post office to deliver it sooner, tried to get home from work early. tried to get my mum out of her meeting to go home. There's nothing I can do but pray that it'll get there before 12  :(

Worst case scenario, you go to your sorting office on Saturday and pick it up.  Not exactly the end of the world, man up! ;)

That's not the point though. I know its going to be there, I can go and pick it up tomorrow morning before work but that's not the same. it should have to sit in the sorting office over night.

So close yet so far

Haha tell me about it. I order a lot of stuff from Amazon, so I have paid £70 odd for amazon prime which gives free next day delivery on all orders. I have yet to receive anything next day. They seem only  capable of delivering to my house during work hours when I'm not in, though on one occasion they came to my house when I was in and only posted a 'sorry we missed you' not through the door. I try get things delivered to work, but they only seem capable of delivering to my office address out of office hours. They tried to deliver something on Friday at 7.30pm and obviously couldn't as the office was shut then sent me an email saying that as it was an office address they wouldn't try again until Monday. They know it's an office address, why are they trying to deliver at 7.30 on a Friday night?!

Just received an email saying they have left my KP book with my neighbours. Why it can't just go through the letter box I don't know.

Because the book's got too much utter garbage in it ;)

That's all I need. Bad enough we have a phantom dog (No Swearing Please) thrower wandering our street, now the posty is sticking rubbish with my name on it through my neighbour's door!

I use Amazon prime to deliver to work all the time. Next day delivery is exactly what it says. Just because you aren't there doesn't mean that they can't and you need to work out how to fix that! Just add your work address as a delivery address, surely?

When I went to university in Wales, I was a member of Amazon Prime. But it would never come the next day, so I went down to the sorting office to complain/find out what was happening and the guy told me that the tracking reference I had wasn't even for next day delivery.

Most of the Amazon stuff doesn't come via royal mail though. It comes via Amazon delivery services.

They've changed their procedures since the last time I was a Prime member then. Back then it was mostly (if not all) Royal Mail.

Yeah and for books and dvds etc they used to just sling it through the letter box. Apparently now you need to sign for it. How does anything get delivered these days? I'm definitely cancelling my Prime subscription at the end of the year. It's useless other than saving on post.

My hermes bloke walked around the house and found an open conservatory window, he then dropped a set of pads in through them. Royal Mail have previously left stuff with neighbours, hidden behind bin etc.

Why don't you get it delivered to work?

I do. Then they somehow manage to not deliver it until outside office hours.

That's brilliant haha, to be honest so long as they don't do any damage to the parcel in the process I'd much rather this than a trip to the local depot

"...The rest of the day was slightly soured with the TVs, laptops, and my mums jewellery going missing, but still"  :D
