Hi Guys,
I am relatively new to this forum so apologies if this has been posted earlier but I saw a couple of SG bats on ebay, I think it was VS 219 LE. If its limited edition this this has got to be a good bat. Has anyone had a good experience with SG bats? Are they worth £120 i.e. SG VS 219 LE? I could get SS LE for around £150.

Never seen an SG in the flesh but have heard good things about them.
As for an SS LE I got one 2nd hand off ebay for £80 and have been really impressed with it!

First of all don't fall for the LE malarkey. I will pick SG over SS any day. SG just better value for money in my opinion but I always bought them in person so can't comment on ebay.
SG website will have all the rrp to give you an idea.

SG take delivery of thousands of clefts every year! With that volume of clefts, there will always be some blinders!!!
Obviously a high volume are used to make Kookaburras but plenty will make their own SG brand too.
I have tried a few SG and plenty of SS (TON) bats too. Both offer some fantastic bats!!

SG's are awesome bats. I have used two bats and they were absolutely amazing. I recommend you to buy from a reputable seller.
Other suggestion is, why not get a custom Red Ink for £100? Top notch for the price.

Thank you Guys for your valuable insights. That SS LE does look very good and I am now tempted to get a SS bat as its better to go with what we know will be good.

I see Samuels is using an sg bat today, swear he got his ton the other day with a puma

Only ever seen 1 SG and it's an absolute plank. It was an RSD something or other.
However this was brought over from India by a teammate, not sure if the Export ones are any different (if there are indeed any 'export' ones as such)

yes they are called Kookaburra ;)

I don't think SG bats are exported as I have not seen anyone selling them here (except ebay). I have heard that they make bats for Kookaburra and are not allowed to sell their bats officially outside India.

Yes saw it in the highlights. That's T-45 Ultimate. Top of the range. SG's site has listed that costing around £210

I think I've only seen 3 SG bats in flesh, one felt pressed like a rock, one was in its broken state and the other was one which definitely made the ball travel quite some distance. I'd quite like one, but was kind of put off by the one pressed really hard, it just felt really jarring to the ears and hands when hitting it with a mallet! (Was a top of the range too!) Would find it difficult to buy one blind, unless I trusted the retailer. The SS LE bats are lovely, I have 2, which are really fantastic performers. :)

SS and SG have both far too many different variants/models which is a bit of a put off. I guess this to suit every market and their lower end bats are not going to be as good as the top end ones.
It is so confusing that even the same model is not really the same. For example you have SS LE then you have LE Gold and LE fuller profile and what not.
If you go for either, splash out and get the top end ones.

Yet another SS model. Do they launch a new sticker every week.
-
More like everyday, especially if you look on eBay!
-
SS has recently changed their stickers and all new models will have that but personally I feel the old ones were better
-
Speak of the devil and it appears on ebay :)
The below looks an old model
