No mention of passing the new standard on the site. I believe those who went to Lords said Shrey were in a hotel round the corner and said they had made some changes, anyone know what they are?

Looks like they are doing a fixed grill option now;

The prices are too high..Sportsdirect was doing the Masuri titanium helmet for around £60.

But that was old stock being shifted. Not a current helmet at a normal price.

May go and have a look at allrounder, see what the difference between the two titanium grills is when wearing one. And if comfortable, who knows....

Still feel the prices are very high. Wont be willing to pay more than £60 for a helmet. As far as I know Shrey helmets are made in India and the top ones are being sold in india for around £60.

And the helmets with the variable grille look exactly like the old masuris that were being sold off cheap...

That's because shrey made them. So they will be the same. And both were made in India.

Buy all means it would be stupid to buy a shrey at this price, when the old masuri ti are still on Sale.

but once the masuri is gone, you only have the shrey. And the price is still less than what masuri originally charged for them.

The new new Shrey helmets have fixed grill and a stronger peak, and very light! The Shrey Armor one is lighter then the Titanium Masuri one! and its under £50 retail! available in 8 colours and embroidery service available on orders of 6 plus! so all in all I see it being a good seller for the club cricketer, nice junior one to at around £30!

Are they actually? For the new bottom of the range helmet to be lighter than an old top of the range titanium helmet that they made seems quite unlikely...

The Shrey Armor is 760 grams! Pro Guard with Titanium 675 grams! Masuri Vision Titanium is just under 1000 grams!

** Edit - Found them, isn't that the old masuri club but £10 more expensive?

No its a new fixed grill helmet with stronger peak! we all know the old Masuri helmets can be bought at various places for a bargain price, this helmet will meet the new standards.

I want a non-fixed grille Shrey in the old masuri design, not these fixed grille things!  :(

And you say the old masuri's can be bought at a bargain price, I was quoting what they were selling for at the start of the 2013 season when I bought one!

Unfortunately all old design helmets will not be available once sold! as the manufactures had to stop making these earlier this year! at the end of the day its down to choice! as an adult you don`t have to wear a helmet, but we know most club cricketers prefer to spend around £40-50 on a lid.

Ooh almost all helmets are lighter than Vision Series.

True comparison is with older/original series and Original Masuri Ti is about the same as Shrey Ti i.e around 680gm

Why are Shrey so expensive? They're matching Masuri's pricing but offering what is effectively an old style helmet.

Will they sell well? We'll have to see, but to me they're pricing themselves out of the market all the while older style Masuri's and Albion helmets are available

That's something I wanted to ask a new style masuri user actually.
The new style is growing on me, and with the free club logo offer available I'd look gun!  ;)
Considering getting one, just need an excuse now as the old style masuri and AdiTek raw I have are in near perfect condition...  :-[

I can see a lot of these getting sold, looks like Shrey have done a good job of keeping the classic looks that everyone likes while (I assume) adjusting to the new standard. The cheapest one at £27 is a great price too these days!

Also, thank goodness they're selling the strap pad for the back of the helmet, about time you could buy those separately!

No mention of the new BSI standard in the description on aswanis website or all rounders. If I was Shrey and had a helmet that passed the test I would be shouting about it not hiding behind terms like 'used in the IPL'

Are helmets that don't meet the new regulations allowed to be made still?
I thought that retailers could sell their old stock, but new ones weren't being produced any more.

They conform to BSI98 currently and are going through the BSI13 testing. Wording has been added to our web site.

They can still be made and sold but the ECB/PCA and ICC are looking to start actively publicising those brand/models that have worked towards passing the latest BS 7928:2013 standard.

If helmets have passed it it would be listed on the external packaging, grille, she'll and instruction manual.

We took delivery of 35 Shrey helmets on Friday and have already sold several! the junior helmet is very well priced, as is the Armour which is lighter than the Masuri Titanium.

Just seen a picture of a newer shrey helmet on their twitter feed. Looks like the uk delivered stock is all ready out of date. And we will see a heavier visor to pass the new standard.

Last picture shrey posted is on October 20th. Over 2 months ago. With the words. "Coming to UK stock soon"

Today they have re tweeted the same helmet but in white for manoj tiwary.

I can't see where you got uk stock being out of date from??

Extra zig zag bar added. The main bars running round the helmet look thicker as well? From the pictures on all-rounders website

Zig zag bar yes, but can't see that making any real difference to how it will perform in the tests. It's just an extra triangular bit welded on.
As for the thicker bar that may just be the camera angle

Will potentially make a decent difference, triangles are very stiff shapes. Could well be that they've done it as the grill was flexing too much to pass the test? Assume they haven't just chucked it on for fun anyway.

Possibly, but it's inly one extra bar effectively.
I may be wrong but I can't see that making or breaking the deal for the testing though, as I think it each grille only takes one hit each?

Could be the one bar that tips it from just failing to just passing though? If that bar stiffens it up enough that the ball doesn't break through/force the grill onto the face/whatever the failure could have been, then great success. Hard to say just looking at a picture to be fair, but if you wanted to reinforce the grill that's a fairly logical change to make.

It's an extra bar in the most vulnerable area of the original design.

It could be there to add strength. Or it could well be a request from manoj and a one off. Who knows?
