I have just picked up 3 full profile BAS bats and have to say they are amazing for the value.

Almost half the cost of TON and same performance, you cant go wrong with them.

Just because a bat has no concaving, i wouldn't say it is a traditional shape. Most, if not all Indian bats will still have very big edges and a bow.

A traditional shape with little/no bow and very small edges is a rarity these days, something like this (which i assume is a Newbery Mjolnir that the owner has butchered with fake Slaz stickers) is a good example of a fairly recent bat in such a shape. I can't recall seeing an Indian bat in this sort of shape.

How can a bat have big edges with no concaving unless it has Almost no spine or weighs a ton.

All of the Sareen bats in topic are the types of bats I mean. And yes generally unless you get an exceptionally light cleft or the bat is over dried (very common) then you can have big edges or no concaving at a sensible weight, not both.

I have BDM and SM bats with full profile. Most of these have full profile even the low/mid range bats. I have also seen a lot of BAS bats with full profile.
Most SS and SG bats have some concaving unless you are buying the top range where you may get fuller profiles. I am yet to see a SG with full profile blade.

Appreciate its a personal preference but I've used a SS and prefer the BAS a all round, pickup and responsiveness

BAS were the brand that removed any negative opinion I have about Asian bats!
If you find a good one (and there are many good ones!) then they are equal to almost any bat!

This is what I have always thought of as a traditional Indian shape.  I first came across BAS bats like this about 15 years ago when a friend started to act as an agent.

Note,  no concaving and a strikingly similar shape to the one we now call ST shape. This also has the vampire stamps in the edge,  before they marketed BAS as heavily.

It also comes with a heavy pick up.

Love the old Vampire branded ones!
A touring side that used to visit us from India brought a load over and sell them to our members. All big bats with ping a plenty and little or no concaving. Not light mind. One or two are still going even though this was at least 10 years ago

Why do most indian bats have a square toe?  I've never quite understood why they don't just round off the toe like most English based manufacturers do?
