Title: Cricket bat cane handles
Post by: Hobnobs27 on October 28, 2014, 12:17:39 PM
Does the handle make a difference on a cricket bat like a bat that is 5 cane handle compared to a 9 cane handle which one is better.
Also is the 12 piece cane handle like the best bats

In simple terms, the handle makes the bat.

So yes it is really important.

You also haven't mentioned whether there is cork, rubber or other shock absorbsion in the handle too.

The more bits there are to the handle, the stiffer it will be, in theory the stiffer the handle the more performance gets retained through the shot - although other people think having a more "whippy" handle helps them - I suspect it is all in the timing.

better is in the eye of the beholder...

Sarawak is a province in Borneo/Malaysia where cane is abundant.
A 12 piece handle contains numerous pieces of cane and rubber and/or cork.

so the answer to which is better is obviously .................................................................................
