Title: Newbery bargains
Post by: KIPPERS on November 05, 2014, 12:26:36 AM
pICKED UP A COUPLE OF nEWBERYS ON EBAY OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS.
1st a Newbery 7 academy colts bat about £30 plus postage. Got this to encourage our colts to use a lighter bat. They all seam to want to bat with a 3lb indian monster. Was frankly stunned by what a good piece of kit it is. advertised as 2.8 it actually weighs in at 2.5-6 has an amazing ping and all the power down at the middle with shoulders like a ballet dancer.
2nd A Navarone 2.9 picks up quite heavy for a light bat middle seems quite high paid £40 plus postage looked shabby but once cleaned up and waxed it looks a little gem.
I open the batting and if i went out tomorrow id take the Newbery 7 its bloody delightful. If I was going to really welly the ball it would concern me how delicate the shoulders and top end of the 7 is, but what a bit of wood. I'm sure someone knows, what adult bat is closest to the 7. Id  love a 7 with a warsop oval handle at about 2.10.

Great stuff. My match bat is a 2.12 Navarone Players and I love it.

All my stock control programs at work only work in capitals so I have a bad habit of leaving them on
