Hi All, First time post for me but barely a day goes by in-between my visits to the forum.
After a 5/6 year gap half way through last season i started playing again for a local club. Needles to say i dusted off the old gear to begin with but i have decided to replace everything over the winter.
I have already made a few purchases but these are the latest to arrive and i can't recommend Tom at Ayrtek enough for customer service.
The pads are youth size due to me being a short (No Swearing Please) but seem like a great pad (at an amazing price) and the helmet, well its speaks for itself. Steel grill for me as price is a huge factor but its not exactly heavy really and TBH i'm not known for my longevity out there in the middle.
We all like pics so here are a few:

pretty nice looking

Good looking pads buddy did well to find a set as Ayrtek don't do softs or bats anymore which is a shame

I have been keeping an eye ine those pads. What are the strap lengths like?
-
I got a pair of those pads too - great price, great service. I'm about 5-9 but verging on the umpa lumpa leg length wise and these pads locate perfectly on the knee cup. They wrap around well too (I can see me being bowled through the gate even more) the top hat looks a bit small but no smaller than standard pads on a tall guy.
Strap length - perfect - if your normal pads have over long straps these certainly don't, they are bang on IMO. At the price, if Tom has any left, they are a no brainer.
My only regret is that he didn't have any of the gloves left.

Good looking stuff :)

Agree with all the comments about the quality of the gear. I am pretty sure Tom has some Pads left so get in contact and find out what he has.
Agreed re the knee location, it is perfect. My previous pads were about 15 years old i think, but only about 5 seasons use. They are super comfy and actually test protection level as i got them from a friend who was sponsored. Being new these obviously felt a little stiff on but will be perfect once worn in a few times.
The strap is a perfect length and superbly reinforced. I have packed all my gear away this morning so sorry but i'm not going to be able to measure them until it comes out again for nets next year.
It would have been nice to get the gloves but as i bought an amazing glove set not long ago it never really crossed my mind. plus these days i'm not into matching sets...

I'm not into matching sets but they just looked superb!

Quality for the price. Are these proper RH pads? My Ayrteks didn't cover the inside of my right calf which makes me think they were ambi. There was no label so I couldn't check.
-
They are definitely handed, the form that you can see in the picture only exists on one side to give that bit of extra wrap around to the handed side. I did think they could have come around my leg a little more but i have very large calfs so don't really expect to get great coverage. plus they will relax and bed in with use. I stored them away with the velcro pulled tighter to give them a bit more of a natural curve.

They do seem to be a touch narrower than full size pads, but even with full size ones I got nipped on the calf due to faulty footwork - must get those feet moving properly...

must get those feet moving properly...
even just based on a sample size of me and you... your not the only one!

I need to get that toe pointing up the wicket not across :(
