2 posts in one day.. i am on a roll.
Well a few weeks ago i was browsing eBay as you do and spotted a Kippax for sale. I always associated the big green K with amazing batsmen when i played as a junior so the name always catches my attention. I started playing again (after 5/6 years) half way through last season using my 10 year old Slaz V1200 and although i love it (and it can still more than make the rope) after a few games i was already thinking about additions... and of course if you find this forum then having a collection becomes mandatory.
Well i won the auction and this is what arrived. I thought it had been used a little more then the advert made out but nothing too be worried about, there was some pre-emptive tape not the toe and the usual scuff sheet (neither of which i like) but the bat picks up nice and is bag on in my preferred weight range.
Does anyone know anything about the bat? Is it genuine Kippax? Whats its age?
I had already decided to refurb it over the winter and got excited and ripped off the tape and scuff sheet before i took photos... Personally i think it will come up loverly when tidied up and a new grip.
pics for your pleasure:

Id have said its a more recent model than the one from 07/08, seem to remember those yellow stickers being a more recent addition, possibly 3 or 4 years ago
-
I'd agree had a weight reduction done on a kippax I had 2 years ago and it came back with the white versions so I'd say 4-5 years prior to the revamp stallion and green K stickers
-
Think these are the same stickers a club mate had on theirs before they had it re-handled.
They bought it around 2008/2009 if I remember correctly.
Lovely looking stick by the way mate.

The bat looks very good..could be 5-6 years old though
-
cheers guys. I'm definitely appreciating all the knowledge out there.
It maybe 5 or so years old but from the look of it i don't think its even had more than a few innings. I'm going to give it a little refurb job and see how she comes out. I personally think its going to look great sanded and oiled... fingers crossed it goes just as well!
I was just wondering what made it a limited edition... there doesn't seem to be any other indicators re the model.

Looks like a great stick!!!
-
Is that a border terrorist by the way??
-
yep, one of 2 in this house. Technically he is a border crossed with a lakeland so has lots of boarder behaviour but is a little taller and has a longer nose
-
Lovely dogs, nice to see someone else posting bat pictures with a border in them! :D

Well I'll get both in next time for good measure! Bat refurb begun, new rubber on order so once complete I'll get the next set of pics up!
