Well that was 2 minutes of my life wasted.

Not sure what the idea of that video was. What's with numbers? I suppose there will be an explanation later....

Video was useless. Here's a summary from talent cricket:-

MH87 = original high
MH96 = original low
MH11 = master
MH09 = amplus

Pointless rebranding exercise plus rrp jacked up by £30-40

Looks like These numbers correspond to the year of the model's release. Silly branding.

It's like there saying.  "Here's a videos to show of our new stickers"

The actually bat shapes take no precedence in the video. Do millichamp really believe the customer don't care more than fancy colours?

Agree that the video doesn't really show enough but I quite like the new branding. The prices are steep though, £275 for a mark 3 bat is alot of money! The 3 that i've had have all been great bats though. I know people on here have said that they have seen planks but the ones i've had have had really good performance, if a little shoddily finished....

I spoke to them at the trade show and you are right, they do relate to the year of release.

All I am saying is I hope they have the licence for the music.... I think not.

Surely some hard rock would have been more appropriate.

I quite like the stickers.

I would guess the video is meant as a teaser, rather than saying look at our new stickers.

The stickers looked great at the Lord's show.
M and H have always been expensive, there is not point in moaning about it.
They have many loyal customers and have been going a long time.

like the look of the new stickers quite a departure from previous year.

i always wanted a m&h as they are my closest bat maker but couldn't ever afford a new one.

I know that they are sort of a traditional bat maker but to some people a bat designed in 87 might not be particularly appealing, unless it has changed considerably since then?

It looks like a pretty modern twist when you see the profile in the video. It's got big edges and toe with a bit of concaving

I'm with you SLC, more of a teaser than a launch video.

I know GM have actually got their full 2015 stock out in the UK already (well bats anyway), but M&H is a smaller brand so makes sense for them to be a little bit behind.

As for the rebranding, lets be honest about other brands. With the exception to the ugly GN Nemesis, most of the large bat manufacturers release the same bats every few years under a new name to re kick sales.

In this case, M&H have at least been honest to the foundations of the stock that have made them the company they are. Change the name for 'Original' to 'MH87', retains the origins of the bat you're buying, but brings all their branding into line with that of the CK22 they released in the last few seasons.

In reality, they are doing very similar to what Gunn & Moore did. They released new models with the Zona and Six6 with new decals, and have now updated the rest of their range to match.

My understanding of M&H (having not owned one myself), is giving cricketers continuity between bats. If you had an Amplas three seasons ago and want a new one, its pretty easy for a reseller to be able to remember the Amplas is now the MH09. So, I believe they are actually respecting their returning customers, which is nice to see.

Actual pics on their site now. Including a cricket bat wine rack (early April fools?).

By also charging them an extra £50 for the privilege...

buying a wine rack with a top of the range bat i'm not sure would go down well on the streets of (west) London

'just sayin' :)
