Interesting tweet today by the GrayNics bat workshop showing a bat supposedly for Sam Billings. Very average looking bat, is it that not all pro's want 10+ grains, or some clever marketing by GrayNics to shift a few lower grade bats?

Nice looking bat - not for all but ping doesn't come from looks - which goes for a lot of things in life!

I'd imagine Sam Billings is only interested in something that goes like stink!! I've got a 6 grain Affinity Spectre which is an absolute gun. I'd personally rather have a performer than a 20 grain plank

Well his last bat needed a bit of tlc.
The grains on this isn't exactly out of this world...

i do like the way bats with 6/7 grains (didnt actually want to count) usually play doesn't julian millicahmp have a similar philosophy on the amount of grains
-
Most of the pro I have had feeling do not ask for looks at all pickup is what they want and it feeling right.
-
Even with 6-7 grains it doesn't last that long, is it? ;) ;
-
I was there when he selected his bats. They may not have more than 6-7 grains but both of his bats, performance was exceptionally good. I tested with mallet and would have taken these regardless of the grains, pick up and ping was like pro bats.

You'd hope they were pro bats :)

I picked up a couple of Oblivions of Sam's a couple of years ago when he was netting and they were huge and very grainy
