Title: Bat of the year 2015
Post by: Marc28 on December 10, 2014, 02:27:50 PM
As were all gearing up for next season
I thought I would ask what people think the bat of next season will be, I've preordered a Great looking F18 from the vitas lads,
And that will be me done. Pics are always welcome.

It has to be my oversized Red Ink, value for money in the extreme, value for shots in the extreme and all going to be wasted on the worst cricket team in the world. That is the spirit of cricket!

With the new shapes I would expect to see a rise in the amount of Kook bats used especially as they have covered approve points. Possibly the GN Omega will be popular I reckon also.

Personally the bat of 2015 will be my secret weapons lol

Will post pictures of my potential bargain blade when it arrives!
I've bought blind so hopefully my gamble pays off...

Agreed on the F18, it's my fave of the big guys from what I've seen. Jury still out on the smaller guys as there's a lot out there I like  :D

I started gearing up midflight in the 2014 season due to a bat debacle. Now I have a good set of sticks as backup should my match bats break.

That line has to epitomise the forum, I now have a good set of sticks as a back up  should my match bats break!!

I thought the Omega is possibly the worst bat of 2015, hideous colour scheme and didn't think much of the XRD handle.

Lavers new shape - based on the ultra but a lot fuller profile. Gorgeous.

I got a Custom LE Omega from Jake last week as I wanted something heavier than the normal range. The pick up is really good as would be expected. I used it indoors on Friday and was very impressed, it pings alot better lower down surprisingly. I think it needs a bit of playing in, but all in all a good bat.

Mulling over another Affinity
But can't decide which one

I think the new Polaris will be favourite

I can second that, had a good look at it last week when I picked my Polaris up. It's very nice, they pick up surprisingly well

What does a Polaris look like?

Sort of Newbury mjoliner ish
Sensible edge, plenty of meat with no concaving

Total opposite to my Toro

Polaris profile is extremely low, i wasn't a fan and I don't think I was alone in that thought Saturday. If you on a deck that rolls along the floor you'll be in business but it puts a lot of eggs in one basket imho. Omega looks a dog in design and stickers.

This is an incredibly brand biased call but I can see the Gunn & Moore Aura being a popular shape , even with the duckbill toe..... What can I say , I am GM loyal.

I am loving the shape of kookaburra instinct from 2015 models from big brands.

My Favourite would be the Puma stealth, full profile, thick edges, as light as 2lb 9oz, grade 2 and the black stickers look lovely

Itd be nice if we can find out from the sponsors what their best selling bats have been so far....i am sure some of them would surprise us.

Cheers Jake. Interesting the f18 with such a high middle is popular in England.

Forgot @VKS too.

GM Mogul has been a popular one as well as the Gray-Nicolls Omega's

I say you chaps - how popular would you say Ton & Spartan have been?

Also, are you allowed to mention a brand that may have undersold in your expectations?

M&H CK22, H4L HellFire and Newbery Kudos for us...
Title: Re: Bat of the year 2015

TON is a good solid seller for us. There has been little noticeable increase based on their new shapes which i find a little puzzling considering everyone apparently doesn't want concaving anymore. We haven't picked our spartan stock yet, it wasn't a huge seller for us last year.

Peak bat buying time is from now until May though, so it could all change.

The Ton range is very popular amongst both junior and seniors, primarily because the willow quality is so good.

Spartan has also been good, particularly with the English willow junior bats.

Our own Uzi Pro Bats including Pads and Gloves as well as Newbery Kudos, GN Omega, TON and BAS range
B&S didn't sell very well

Had a good trip to Owzat and spoke to Gav, looking at the ranges,

Slaz v800 looks a good bat, nice big profile.
GM like the Aura not too sure about Mogul.
Gray nic's range not too sure like the F18 but the high middle not so sure. Omega didn't like at all,
Kook range I did like not so much the verve, but the Cadejo and instinct I liked a lot definite bats for uk pitches great profiles and very good pick ups.

Wow didnt like that GN Omega stickers and shape at all.....but your best seller in the GN range it seems :)

Best bat in the grays range is again the oblivion e41 or maybe the F18, from what I saw don't like the omega at all but will probably be the big seller

So far we have sold more Kook (last year's bargains) and SG bats. In juniors, GN F18. But very early days yet.

Kookaburra Instinct is, by far, outselling the other Kookaburra bats for us. I am surprised the Verve hasn't taken off yet but it is still early days...

I'm thinking anything with big edges and a full profile will be appealing to everyone this year.
Concaving seems to have gone out of fashion  ;)

Out of all the cars I saw at owzat those were the two best profiles I saw without a doubt just trying to decide which one I'd got me maybe the Cadejo just got the beef in the hitting area,
