Title: Forum Winter net - Headingly?
Post by: Ams4287 on December 12, 2014, 09:10:04 PM
Right chaps seeing that the guys down south are heading to the oval and having not picked up a bat or ball since September plus my clubs winter nets not starting to the end of February wondered whether anyone would be up for a net post christmas. Never been to headingly and as most of the week I'm that way figured I'd ask the question, any interest out there?

Sounds good @procricket B3  @smilley792  I've no probs hitting dotball as that's much closer to where I live and better at a weekend, but appreciate we'd get a big crowd headingly way.

I'll make some enquires on cost and availability would a evening work for people?

Any update on this @Ams4287

Hey @Ryan update is as follows......no one picks the phone up at the Yorkshire indoor school 😳 I'll keep trying.

Was thinking to confirm availability for a few dates and see what people think

Fri 2nd Jan if people aren't back at work, maybe 2-4
A Sunday morning (4th)?
Or a Thursday say 7-9 (8th or 15th)?

Obviously subject to availability - guess Dotball just off J31 of the M1 is a bit far for you guys (availability would be better I guess but @smilley792 could advise as it's his local and I'm sure I read a post he's netting already)

I'm not back until the 5th so any of those days are fine with me. Think simmy is back on the 5th too.

8th sounds good to me. I'm still on my Xmas break then.

As for dot ball.  Pretty dead before Xmas.  We just book when we want and we are either on our own. Or just the odd bowling machine being used.....

After Xmas could be an all new ball game though. That's when it tends to get busy round here.

Morning Chaps

I've managed to get hold of Headingly and there net availability post Christmas starts w/c 12th Jan so they have Thursday 15th Jan 7-9pm available at a cost of £50 (£25 per hour). Didn't ask whether we'd need a deposit but happy to forward my paypal details and sort it that way.

What's everyone's opinion? @joeljonno @Simmy @procricket B3 @Ryan @smilley792

The other option that Smiley mentioned in the previous post is Dotball at Sheffield which I believe is £18 per hour (smiley please correct me if I'm wrong) location wise is S26 5PY I can check dates say for Friday 2nd late afternoon or Thursday 8th dependant on the feedback. Either way is good for me.

Dotball is 24 an hour for a lane with bowling.

Not sure on availability in jan haven't asked.

15th at headingley would mean I'm out as working away that week.

Thanks Chris we'll see everyone else's feedback (headingly or dotball plus a date) as we probably need 5 or 6 to make it a goer (doesn't have to be the 15th that was just the first week post Christmas available).

Fri 17:00 - 22:00

Depending on how many you need, I would be up for some nets. Prefer Leeds as I am York based but Steve Lawrence's at Tadcaster could also be an option as it's just 2 miles from A1/A64 junction (£25 per lane per hour with a bowling machine).

Perhaps we could organise a couple of sessions?

You don't need a deposit  for Headingley  you just pay on the day. That's  wahat we normally do.

I wouldn't mind coming if you've stil got some places left
