just wonder if anybody else was having a go at the quiz. ive managed to answer all but 2/3 of the questions if anybody has any ideas for the questions below that would be great or if anybody wants some help with theirs im happy to share answers
Which batsman/bowler combination has produced the most runs in Test cricket?
How many times did Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne share all 10 of the opposition wickets in a Test innings?
What did Sven Koenig in 2004 and Matt Prior in 2011 both achieve at Lord's?
-
Is the Matt Prior one breaking a window?
-
that is the year he did it but it doesn't relate in anyway to the other guy
-
Both scored a century at lords. Prior vs India 1st test 2011.
Sven for middlesex 2004
-
i just think there is more to it then that as its in the section called "quirky goings on"
prior also managed a century in the other test at lords that summer
-
Sven retired hurt after going to a hundred. Not sure if prior did though.
-
i couldnt find any record of prior being hurt. they were both not out but that cant be that unusual
-
Did they both bring up their hundreds by hitting a boundary while batting with the Number 11??
I think Prior did from memory
-
Add that Sven bowled off spin. And priors a stumper. It has to be an achievement while batting.....
Unless fo course it's based on the window
-
Power of Google.
My abiding memory is when given out at Lord's, Koenig ,on returning to the dressing room, threw his helmet at the window causing a member sitting below to be showered with glass. He came downstairs to apologise to the startled member.
Window!!
-
Power of Google.
Window!!
Told you! (And it wasn't a total guess on my behalf, honest...) :-[
-
awesome i thought it must be something to do with the window but couldn't find the link cheers for that
-

-
I was just about to say 0 for mcgrath warne combo. As I can't find zip that relates.
As for bowler batsmen. I'm not sure what it even means.
allrounder whos scored most runs
Batsmen/bowler together who's produced most runs?
Or batsmen vs bowler that produced most runs??
Such a badly written questions , and that's coming from me who's English is rubbish.
-
i was reading it has the batsmen who has scored the most runs of a certain bowler.
along the lines of which bowler has got the same batsmen out the most times.
ive been thinking rahul dravid and shane warne as they played alot together and warne struggled in india
-
I e warne and mcgrath.
There record for 10 wicket matches as a partnership is 9. With a match being 2 innings(obviously)
So highly doubtful that on all 9 occasions they got 10 wicket matches as a partnership it came in the one innings every time.
So whoever got the answer as 9 has miss read the info he Google. Or misunderstood the question.
-
And on your understanding of the question. It's sangakarra and ajmal

-
i reckon they miss read it somewhere along the lines.
i went through their stats on an innings by innings basis and couldn't find any.
glad somebody else agrees with my answer.
-
awesome answer not sure how i missed that on their website its quite a useful treasure trove of pointless facts
i reckon ive got them all right thanks for the help
-
any chance anybody knows when they announce the results?
given you had to hand in the answers bt the 31st January i was hoping the results would be in this months magazine
there are in this months magazine i just missed them.
I think i only got one wrong and it was the very last question.
