Hi all. Advice and recommendations required please.
My brother has asked me for a new cricket bag for Christmas, (leaving it quite late I know)!
Requirements:
- Medium size - He has specifically asked for not too big. Enough space for bat/s, batting pads, batting gloves, helmet, spikes and whites.
- £50 budget - Give or take a small amount.
- Wheelie or Duffle would be fine.
- Any brand - He doesn't use a specific brand, just a mixture of gear.
- Would like the full length of the bag to open, like on a wheelie bag. Doesn't like the idea of just the end of the bag opening, like on some/most/all stand-up bags. Not sure if this rules the duffles out or not?
Advice, recommendations etc are invited from forum members and sponsors.
Thanks in advance.

GM 2015 Original Duffle should fit the requirements, not that anybody has seen one yet!

You should have a look at GN, Kookaburra and CA section on our web site

Don't think it opens fully. I was going to say GN or GM duffle until I saw that.

I've just ordered the Salix Pod Pro which I think meets most of your requirements
Cost me £52 inc postage
By all accounts pretty decent

We have a special on our wheelie bags £25.00 including delivery

Just brought a Salix Pod One tri-wheel - quality is the best on the market in my opinion.

Think the B&S is a great deal and I've seen the Salix bags and must agree the quality and sturdiness of material used seems second to none.
On the GM Original Duffle, does anyone know if the biggest zip/section with GM and Original written on opens into the main bag compartment or is sort of a separate pocket on the bag? On my Old GM Original Wheelie the big zip on the top of a bag is a separate shallow compartment that I keep paperwork, scorebook, whites, deodorant in etc.

Have a look in the red ink section, there were 3 different sizes. They look good

Narrowed it down to the GM Original Duffle and the Salix Pod Pro. Decisions decisions? Time to start searching the net for best price!

GM duffle has arrived in stock to us today. Full length opening on the front gives access to the main compartment. Great bag.

Thanks a lot. Think I'll be getting him the GM then!

GM bag ordered from VKS. Thanks for all your help in finding the right bag guys.

I'd be looking at the Kookaburra Pro Players duffle. Bat pockets are internal rather than external, so no chance of rain, etc getting onto the handles or sneaking through the zipped pocket, heaps of room for all kit plus clothing/accessories. Looks a good one to me and I'm seriously looking at one...

Yep, this is the one i have gone for.

If the kooks were in a less "look at me" colour range. I'd probably have one.
I'd prefer something a tad more conservative for bag use.

Don't forget to do a review of your gm duffle Andy :-)
-
My adidas England duffle is for sale in the for sale section :)
If not i have the GM bag and its really top quality and has really well thought out storage sections
-
It was for my brothers Christmas present but I can review on his behalf once he's used it and given me feedback.

Got the kook players duffle for Xmas, will post a review in the new year, if it hasn't already been done. I have the kook players pro wheelie, want to see what it's like fitting the same gear in, will probably record the process 'live' for the forum and post pics
