Hi guys
You may have seen the first post on this bat, but incase you haven't
http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=32919.msg518287#msg518287 (http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=32919.msg518287#msg518287)
All the before pictures are in that thread, so to avoid an overload and double posting I won't put them all again.
This is how the bat arrived. A bit or tape and a few cracks here and there.

The first thing I did was glue a crack in the shoulder, this was almost a right angle going 3/4 of the way through, so needed some attention.

Once that glue had dried I gave the face and edges of the bat a good sand down.

As the back was in pretty good condition I only gave that a very light sand so the finishing was consistently smooth all over the bat, I didn't take a picture as it looks the same as when I started!
And where I'm up to. Currently waiting for the glue to dry on all the face cracks.

Once dry I will give the face and edges one last fine sanding, then apply some oil.
The plan is to eventually get the bat scuffed up and ready to use, and as I am off work between now and new year I should hopefully get this done before the end of the break.

Excess glue removed

And shoe goo applied to the toe

Once the Shoe Goo is set, I'll give the face and edges a final sand before oiling

That looks nice. Once done with cleanup apply a quality face sheet to prevent any further damage. How does it ping ?

That was the plan bud. Trying to decide between a fibreglass one for authenticity (there was factory fitted on mine) or a clear GM style one.
And the Ping is good when I tapped a ball up with it. Hopefully plenty of life left in it now all the cracks have been dealt with :)

The project became one day's work in the garage.
She cleaned up alright, if I do say so myself :D
