Is Steve Smith a new signing for new balance? I thought he was with slazenger.
Are b3 making his bats? If so I should buy one and then I would be a good batsmen [emoji33]

In order - Yes, He was, No, Why not? With Steve Smith's technique, no one thought he was going to be as good as he has turned out to be!!! Proves that technique is b0110ck5 and its runs on the board that matters. (Hopefully the England top order are reading this!)

He has improved but the Indian attack haven't asked many questions. The pitches have been good for batting with nothing in it for the seamers. He has been almost able to trust the bounce walk across his stumps and work balls to leg. The key thing with his technique is how the bat comes down. He does a bit of an Amla, bat goes over gully but comes down pretty straight.

I think also that the particular conditions that Indian seamers are used to - ie those that reward consistent bowling at the stumps - plays into SMith's hands because his biggest strength is his ability to play in the arc through the stumps to square leg. He's done well, but I don't think we should assume he'll score a thousand runs in the Ashes just yet!

Smith has played exceptionally well scoring so many runs with the pressure of captaincy thrust upon him. The same can said of Kohli: this bodes well for the next few years of Test cricket with a couple of young captains like this!
As for the pitches, they are the flattest I've seen here in many years: surely the changes in dates couldn't mess their preparation up this much.....? Without wanting to get into "conspiratory theories".... Lol

If you could buy anything even resembling the bats they actually use, the sales probably would be going off! :)

If you ask B3 nicely you'll get the exact same shape as Finc uses with different stickers ;)

I like Smith a lot, I'd rather see players with their own techniques who can learn and react to different situations and playing conditions and over time prove themselves to be world class players, than seeing someone with an over coached perfect technique fail to adapt and move from the safety of coaching. Give me a player who can manage his own technique and adaptions any day over a completely coached player. We (English cricket) tend to be guilty of looking for perfect techniques from perfectly educated youngsters, than maybe the rough diamonds who can read and react to game situations much quicker, because they are used to relying on their own judgements.

How many times have you heard English commentators talking about a new player say "he has a lovely technique, he'll score a lot of runs" (or something to that effect).
Newsflash England - scoring runs is what matters, give me an aggricultural player who will consistently score 50s/100s over an Ian Bell who makes a lot of pretty 30s any day!

I thibk Steve Smith is a good reminder to people trying to get better and score more that just because it looks good doesnt alwats mean it is.
Agree about the English mentality and the fact i thought Smith was bobbins too.
Can't knock the lad fair play in charge of his game

Steve Smith unnerves me and I really don't like him. Half the time he looks gormless, a quarter of the time he looks like Odie from Garfield and the rest he seems to be sulking (and pointing at the sky :D)
I think it's the fact that there's obviously more going on in his head than his face.

it's true 'us English' are too obsessed with coaching technique but in these test matches bat has dominated ball way too much so while Smith has played excellent all series it's too easy for batting
batsmen need to be put under pressure at top level not just hit thru the line of everything
One thing we could learn from thou is if a player is successful in County cricket for example,there's no point getting a call up and then having his batting technique picked apart by the coaches
some of you may remember Jimmy Anderson lost 1 year of test cricket as the top coaches messed him up
And no-one is going to tell me what happened over the winter to Steve Finn was a shining example of English coaching at it's best.....
