i live in Australia and i need a new bat i was thinking of buying a Special Offer 1: Laver & Wood Reserve but i'm not sure about buying a bat online and not knowing the pick up and performance. Any opinions on which bat to get or your opinions on laver or any other good brands

If you want/prefer a Laver I would suggest you to email Anthony, service is very good and you'll be sorted with a best possible option.

Laver have a good reputation and make a bat to suit your needs (based on what you tell them) I beleive.
If you're going down the custom route my recommendation would be B3, Red Ink, Ryan on here of a Hunts custom through Jake at vitas. Even with shipping the price is more attractive than a Laver to me

I have two Lavers and am very happy with them - especially the replica they made of my SS match bat.
I have no issues with buying online - talk to the retailer and ask them what the bat feels like - tell them where you like the weight and meat of the bat.
Personally I reckon people can be too precious about their bats - and I think that you can grow to like pretty much any bat - if it meets your basic requirements of where you hit the ball and is of sufficient quality so that it performs well.

It's one of those things... If after all your research you just like the idea of a Laver then that's what you should go for.
The names mentioned above have great reputations and can make you something bespoke to your needs at some great prices. Spend some time looking at all the threads and it might change or cement your decision.

I too live in Australia and have happily done business overseas with Red Ink and Aldred. I figure once you're buying overseas it makes little difference whether it's NZ or UK. John and Paul come very highly recommended.

If you spend the time with the Laver guys I have no doubts the end result will be perfectly suited to your needs.

You won't go wrong with Laver. Before you order your bat, know exactly what specs you prefer. Weight? Location of sweet spot ( high, low, midi)? Balance? Handle type (oval vs round )? Handle width? Pressing? Talk to the team about how much knocking bat would need before it opens up.

Cheers for the help boys

Does anyone know how much I t would be for B3 to ship a bat out to Australia

Look at this thread for shipping.. http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=19094.0 (http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=19094.0)

When I used to ship bats to Aus from the UK it would cost around £40GBP without any insurance with parcelflight

I'm in Australia as well and had same apprehensions about buying a bat without it being in my hands.
I've bought 2 and it's all been good.
I read enough on here so it wasn't about quality. Don't think I'm ever going back to the off the shelf companies.
Bat feel is important, especially where the middle is if playing in Australia. I reckon the Laver guys will understand the Australian conditions and as previously stated here will produce something amazing. Lots of reviews on here about them.
Postage around £35 from UK. Might be worth considering one of he UK bat makers here.
All the best.

My Laver's were really good, but they always managed to be slightly heavier from leaving Laver to when I got them and weighed them. Maybe different scales, but that is what I noticed. Top, top bat's though.
-
My own Laver has gained somewhere in the region of 2 ounces since i received it and weighed it, it arrived at the weight i requested.
I have negated some of this by removing the toe guard as well as replacing the very thick (heavy) scuff sheet that they fit and fitting my own thinner one.

Look into Dingbat Sports, will custom make you a bat. Say my name "Griffin' just for reference. He is located in Victoria and could sort you out.
