I've been told that I have a TFCC tear in my left wrist. Have been told I could need a cortisone injection or worst still an operation.
I've been carrying the injury for 2 years now, was hoping a 4 month rest would cure it but with no avail after my first net session with the Finch (DW2) which will be getting no use until wrist improves.....
Has anyone ever suffered with this and what was the outcome? Think I will have to make an appointment at the docs Monday.

In my clinical experience persistent wrist/carpal injuries are often a result of problems further up the arm due to something called the 'kinematic chain' which incorporates the whole shoulder complex and elbow. If your injury is not a direct result of trauma to the area in question then I would suggest going to see you local Chiropractor or Osteopath or even a Physio. This may cost you a bit of money but it is much better to look at conservative means of treatment before any surgery. If you do choose to go down the manipulative therapy route make sure in advance you find someone with some experience in your type of problem and is also aware of what I have mentioned above otherwise you could well waste you money.

Thanks for the advice. I do think my problem was from a trauma rather than 'kinematic chain'.
Initial injury was while batting and a sharp pain. It settled down until I was knocking in a new bat which aggregated it further and has not got better since.
I have a very good physio so will speak to him.

Just been told I have the same problem. Injury occurred when batting in May 2015. Went for XRAY in June and found nothing clear or any break but could possibly be a small break and may need MRI scan. Had an appointment with a hand doctor and said it was tendon. Gave me a wrist brace. 6 months later still issue. Got seen by another doctor yesterday and said it looks like it TFCC and I'll need a MRI scan to see how bad it is... Pretty frustrating...
Has your wrist healed yet?

I found using a lighter bat 2.6/2.7 helped a lot. I batted with a wrist support but was conscious of over extending.
Having snapped my ACL in April last year it's been rested since and seems to have settled down. Think it's just something I'm going to have to manage down the line.
