My bats as you can see i like the different versions of duckbill and also flat toes
-
They look great mate.
Is the middle one the new one?
Nice lamp too! :)
-
Yes mate all ready to go now just have to learn to use them right
-
The lamp is better than his XXL dirty under pants!
Nice bats mate, can't share your love of square toes though!
-
It a touch lamp jobby mate from poundland
-
I think you're doing alright.
You just need to find a club now
-
Sulphur and indian one are my personal favourite shapes of the four!
Shame they're all so light really Dave ;)
-
Dave, Considering ZIZI is 41mm edge 55 mm spine why did you use a oversized cleft for it!! lovely bats BTW, you taking all the good willow ;)

Good question one i was waiting for because clefts are cut a certain way form different willow merchants and because most bats from the edge to the central spine curve inwards(concaved) and this a convex it was not possible because of the size of the convex if that makes sense

Clefts are cut triangle at the top and it would not allow the dome just shown in AA

As for the sulpher i have never seen a bigger bat at that weight ever bar no bat and i have only seen 7 lower density clefts out of around 4000
-
You''ve still got the bug Dave.
-
It will only leave when i finish playing which is likely to be at the end of this coming season
-
Loving that Sulpher... Very provocative profile!
-
Cracking bats dave. The sulphur does look big profile.
Reckon this talk of retirement is nnonsense. I say you have this year without stumping and you'll be fine to play for another 10 atleast.
Also if your not behind the stumps you can come play for us.........For free. Lol
-
Good name for that shape - 'Sulphur' I dropped quite an eggy fart just looking at it!

Some bats look smaller on pictures but this one looks as big in the flesh. Lovely bit of willow that. Too light for you Dave :D
-
Lovely bats, but can't shake my hatred of square toes I'm afraid!
-
Seriously! I'm struggling to stop envying those exceptional bats.
Only cosmetics I haven't jumped on the bandwagon with is Square toes- Meh. Pros seem convinced they work. Why? Extends the reach?
I'm trying to cut back my bats from 4 to 2, but between B3 and Aldred my bat buying affliction is returning. $Aus better recover soon.
-
Thought I'd best showcase my settled match bats for this year, I have 3/4 sitting around that just won't make it this year. Not even sure if I'll get settled into the Aldred unless I'm in terrible form!
Feel bad that I haven't reviewed either of these on the forum, so I'll post a little about them as I go!
We have a blank RK from Ryan, a custom copy of a very special Chase I was gutted about breaking. Comes in around 2.9 ish once tape and grips are sorted. About 12 lovely straight grains and a pretty high middle with very little concaving. Ryan made a cracking job of this one, really starting to go nicely!
Next up an Aldred Gold Sovereign. It comes in around the same, although the pickup is slightly different with a little more weight in the toe, but for the size of it, still very nice! > 20 grains, a big strip of heartwood and a really long middle, been very impressed hitting up with it so far!

Both Ryan and Paul were fantastic to deal with, I'm a difficult customer. Can't wait to start using these in anger! Sorry they aren't as immaculate as some! Pre season!!
-
@400notout , how much was your Aldred?
-
Hmm, it was a G1, rather than players, so one down from the top model. Which can only be down to Pauls grading because its a pretty ridiculous looking grain!
Think it was £210 from memory! Comes in well below most big brands and well worth it so far!
