Simple really. A one to eleven of who would make your world cup dream team of eligible players at this years world cup. I'll get things started.
McCullum
Warner
Williamson
Amla
Kohli
DeVilliers
Mathews/Shakib (Conditions dependent)
Johnson
Philander
Steyn
Narine
A mixture of power at the top and the four best score builders in the world at 3-6. Mathews as the finisher. Two express bowlers and a new ball bowler and the best spinner in the world. Can't see how that side could be topped?!
Perhaps Chris Gayle?

Gayle

You're going in with 3 bowlers (+1 part time) and 3 wicket keepers?
-
McCullum
Amla
De Villiers
Kolhi
Williamson
Dhoni
Sammy
Steyn
Starc
Johnson
Narine
After watching the BBL I became a fan of Sammy love his attitude and way he plays the game
-
Totally agree. If everyone played the game in the same spirit as Sammy then it would be 100x better!
-

Keepers are all good in the field, think how many runs you'd save!
And with all that batting the part time bowlers can make up the rest of the overs between them ;)
10 each from Herath, Johnson & Steyn, then 20 between Williamson, Gayle, Warner, Kohli and De Villiers. Simples lol
-
Trent Boult is a very good shout. I'm a big fan of his.
-
Exactly, he's quick, swings it and has consistently taken wickets. Plus the world cup is in his homeland. I stuck Sammy in because of his attitude and that fact that his "long handling" is the funniest thing ever, and bloody effective

Is there a World Cup fantasy cricket website where we can all enter a "dream team" for the tournament?
Could have a CBF league and a few prizes for the top 3 finishers :D
-
I believe cricinfo usually do one. I am happy to set up the group if people want one?
-
In fact, cricinfo are still setting theres up it seems. I will create one there in due course when it is up and running...

Nice one, if u can share the league name/pin we can all get our teams in the mix and perhaps the forum sponsors can have a think if they are willing to donate a few prizes for the top 3 places :)
Bit of inter-forum competition always goes a long way as to who will be crowned CBF World Cup fantasy king for 2015 ;)

I see! On that thinking, I might be tempted to try and get Dilshan in there rather than Dhoni just for the extra bit of bowling.
Quite amazing that Sangakarra doesn't make any teams!
-
Very good point on Sanga. Since reading this my side is now as follows...!
Amla
Warner
Williamson
Sangakkara
Kohli
DeVilliers
Mathews/Shakib (Conditions dependent)
Johnson
Boult
Steyn

In fact, I just looked, Boult's record is 10 wickets @ 50 in odis! Ouch. Time to improve but I guess he can't be in the best side...! Philander back in!

9. Johnson
10. (Anderson/Boult)/Morkel/Narine - Dependant on conditions
11. Herath
