Title: New sponsored player
Post by: 19reading87 on January 20, 2015, 01:51:07 PM
Some of you may have already seen this but Sam Northeast will be using a Newbery gear this coming season.

I think this is a great move for Newbery, I'm a huge fan of Sam I think he will certainly play for England Lions this summer.

good for newbery, they don't sponsor many.
slightly surprised he didn't go back to salix thou

or is that just me being old fashioned thinking he could of given something back to the brans that sponsored him when he was just starting?

would be nice thou now and again to see a top pro walking out with a smaller brand bat.
Chris Read did it couple of seasons back with Choice....

Another player who has left slazenger. We must surely be saying goodbye to them sooner rather than later.

I don't think the bats are much cop... they used to be back....in....the....day....

they have brought out nice retro models last year but if no pro's use them they will soon vanish

It is just really confused marketing, having a premium product i.e. the proper slazenger bats and then having a sports direct product, really cheap and tacky. I know that really if you are buying a bat from SD you are probably not really into cricket much, but most people know that their 'deals' are not really deals and are designed to sell at the reduced price from the start.

It makes me wonder if the people that run Slazenger proper are the same people that run Slazenger for SD?

Hi mate the same people who own SD own Slazenger, yes he is using the Kudos gear I saw a picture of him using the gear on Instagram. I tried to post a picture on here but for whatever reason it keeps saying the image is too big? Can anyone help me with that?
