I have stored a couple of my bats in covers to protect them. When I took them out last night they both have stains on the face and edges. Has anyone else ever experienced this? They are full length hunts county covers and were new before I used them.

I will try and remove them with some white spirit or maybe a light sand.

A bit, it could well have been the oil in the bat and the colour of the fabric mixing etc. 400 grit sandpaper and a wax and you'll be dandy!

I think it'll be ink transfer from the covers. If you're that bothered then I'd use some fine sandpaper to remove the stains.

Just a thought the bat covers weren't slightly damp on the inside or the bats also willow needs to breathe wouldnt use white spirit just a light sanding and oiling.

I don't think the covers or bat were damp before I put them away.
I have managed to get most of it off with a quick sand. I might not put them back in the covers for a bit though!

Both completely ruined. I'll take them off your hands for a fiver....posted
