Title: Updates on IJC and our move - yes, we are still alive!!
Post by: ItsJustCricket on February 06, 2015, 06:15:17 PM
Evening All,

Rumours of our demise have been greatly exaggerated, but it's been an age since I last posted on here, so you were probably wondering!  :-[

In reality, I have been incredibly busy moving in to our new showroom and simply haven't found the time to go on here.  Not only have we had to move all our stock over, but there have been numerous days of DIY, with Allen key in hand, setting up various new fixtures and fittings - including a handmade wooden bat display rack, made by the same carpenter who did the one at Millichamp & Hall.  Our desire to make this new place look more professional than the old one even resulted in enlisting the services of forum great, FattusCattus, who did a fantastic job designing and producing our new signs, which I am very happy with - thank you, Bruce!  :) It feels like we have just about settled in now, so I felt I couldn't stay away any longer, and I have some important updates to share with you...

VISITS
A busy month - I will be visiting H4L on Tuesday to pick out some more gems from Matt.  Please get in touch if you are interested in a new H4L bat as there is still time to pre-order one, or even get one custom made... Later in the month, we will be visiting Slazenger and Newbery.  The V12 has had a resurgence in popularity of late, and we have had a lot of requests for the new V800, so I can't wait to finally get these bats on our rack and in the hands of our (very patient) pre-order customers!  :) As for Newbery, the Kudos2 flew off the shelf before Christmas, so a new batch is long overdue! Still time for more pre-orders, so please get in touch if interested - we only need an £80 deposit and can hand-pick a Slazenger/Newbery bat exactly to your specs...

FREE DELIVERY
Don't forget - throughout 2015, all forum members in the UK & Ireland can get free delivery on all orders from us, simply by quoting CBFDELIVERY at checkout.  There's no minimum order value and the code can be used as many times as you like...

WORLD CUP COMPETITION
We've got a very exciting competition lined up to celebrate the World Cup, which will be promoted on our social media just before the big tournament gets under way.  We felt this might be the only way to get England fans excited about it!  ;) Follow/subscribe/like etc. for all the details...

NEW STOCK
We received a large stock delivery from Millichamp & Hall today, most of which has been added to our website now.  The quality of the M&H willow for this year continues to amaze, and the latest batch includes these beautiful International bats...

Finally, just to confirm: we are open from 09.30-18.30 tomorrow, so hopefully see some of you then...

Thanks for reading and please accept my apologies for being AWOL in January! Hopefully it won't happen again...

Cheers,
Paul

Perfect timing for this post. I was thinking of popping in after I have been to the expo. Hmm maybe I should have booked a later train home!

What's the damage for a top end M&H this season Paul, they look like cracking bats by the way.

Also what easiest tube or DLR station to you these days? I'm over in South London for work next week.

The CK22 and International are £419.99 each, Chris.

Nearest tubes are Oval or Vauxhall, both of which are about a 3-minute walk away...

Bats are good, rest nah. I've only seen the piri piri posters and the phone on the wall from countless vids. Needs a tour of the new shop!

quite a few people have asked me this, but it just isn't big enough, to be honest, and the showroom is 90% bats. We don't carry a huge amount of other stock in there...

Paul, I'm working just across the river in Millbank tower. What's a good day to pop over and have a look at the new shop?

Excellent work Paul, I shall pop in to admire my signs and to advise you on any large and garish internal graphics you may require.

All the best in your new pad!

Hi guys,

I can attest to our still being alive. Having dropped by London for just a week over the New Year period before I flew back to Australia, I managed to still be shocked at the amount of incredible kit we have fitted into our new showroom. It really is like a proper Aladdin's Cave of cricket equipment - and so close to the Oval too! It's also very near a few decent pubs which should entice a few people along!

The new bat rack is a stunning centre piece to the showroom, and certainly has a large number of gems stored in it, definitely worth budgeting a lot of time when you do come to the shop - you may think you know what you want but there's stunners there in every brand and budget!

We filmed a heap of videos during that January period, with reviews of bats, pads, gloves, bags, shoes, helmets, even wallets and iPhone cases - just proving that we are ever growing and expanding our range to cater to the amateur cricketer! Reviews are still going on without my ugly mug in them so stay tuned for the channel, they will be up every few days with Bindi and Paul being the stars for the next few weeks.

I am back in mid March and will be manning the shop on a Monday and Friday during the summer, so if anyone wanted to pop in during that time and keep me company and drool over the gears that we have got in it would be brilliant to see everyone and hopefully help serve you guys in what I know for sure to be central London's best and most varied cricket selection.

Hope everyone is having a good pre-season and are itching to go for the real stuff. Now, I must head to the beach....

Chris

I think "ugly mug" is an understatement with your new haircut, Chris! Not sure if it's a good idea to bring you back to the channel as you may scare away all our viewers! #getitcut
