Title: GM Weights
Post by: TBONTB on February 19, 2015, 05:51:16 PM: Apologies if this has been asked before. GM as we know CNC the bats and as we know clefts vary an awful lot in weight. So when GM or any CNC maker produce their bats do they adjust the sizes (add a few mm on) or do they let the natural variations in cleft weight dictate? I.e. they all have 40mm edges and some weigh 2.8 and some 2.12?

This. All GM bats should be to the same shape/size, within their own model of course. An Octane won't be the same as a Six6. Natural variation allows for different weights.

Why? a 2lb 5 or 2lb 15 bat from GM in 606 range will have the same dimensions. Its just harder to find....

Depends if you like light or heavy bats. Just because the wood is denser, doesn't make it a plank

GM do offer the pickup index on bats in the 808 range and above. A rating system from 1 to 5, more details can be found here:
