Title: Bat shapes and Player names
Post by: i12breakfree on February 25, 2015, 04:19:13 PM
Looking at the B&S bat from Chad's topic, that profile has Sachin Tendulkar written all over it. M7H Master and Newbery B52 Bomber are also in the same category.

Similar to this , the duck bill profile is more known as Michael Clark/Virat Kohli's profile.
Dynandrive = Brian lara

What other bat shapes/profiles are related to player's name ?

SS I-bat is sold as the "Michael Clarke profile"

A few B3 shapes are associated with players too  ;)

He only used OC towards the end of his career. He mostly used GN labelled bats and I associate him with the GN500 (the four scoop) and the powerspot

Stewart must've jumped about a lot, in my head he's using a Slazenger v500.

Even though they weren't particularly distinctive, Trescothick with a gm maxi, and Vaughan with a purist have stuck in my head.

Gooch with his SS turbo. During that Indian summer when he scored the 333

There used to be a few names using Symonds bats for a while,

I'm pretty sure S Waugh, Greenidge and Emburey all used them.

A brand called zero would have been more appropriate given his batting record.

When i started this thread i was thinking more on the lines of a bat shape and how it gets associated to a player's name so closely over time

Anyways enjoying the bat stickers and player's name classic connection too :)

i am sure for the retailers on the forum they would have customers who will come and say i want the GN bat that chanderpaul uses or i want the SS that ganguly uses

On the flip side, B3 say their 19 profile is used by a pro. Does anyone know who uses the offset edge profile?
