Title: Southern Softies Road Trip to B3
Post by: FattusCattus on February 27, 2015, 09:58:48 AM
I can't bear any more of these pictures and videos and stories of visits and magical bats pulled out of bags in the showroom. I have to satisfy my inner nerd and rub myself up against some willow at B3 and see what this is all about.

How about a road trip up there on an official forum visit - does anyone from the Surrey area, West London or the general South East want to club together and share the fuel costs to go up there (preferably someone with a better car than mine!) on a pre-season Saturday?

What could be better than sharing a early start and confined space for 2 hours with a bunch of lads off here, all noshing on Ginsters, high on coffee and farting gently?

I would love to go again but sadly my wallet does not feel the same and I think my wife would force me to sleep in the shed if I brought another bat home  :)

Your making it tough... If I can sell my custom CA it would free up some cash for a butterfly in the same profile as my new girl. hmmmm let me have a think about it...

Excellent - let's see how this snowballs throughout the day and after I've started drinking this evening - then maybe we'll have enough for the old Scout minibus!!

Perhaps we can get Dave involved in what sort of snacks can be provided - I'm thinking Turkey CROWN and BUTTERFLY cakes - ahahahahahahahaha!!

I'm funny me.

Of course we could run a forum event not a drama at all it is in the pipeline and there is a local net as well we may be able to use and maybe do a few tests as well.

Thunderball, Motty and The Cat - that sounds like a road-trip. All we need is a 4th and we are in business.

Tell me you don't drive a Ford Ka Charlie?

Annoption for people.

If anyone wants to go on a sat but can't drive. Get the train to Notts and ill pick you up and drive you in.

Only room for 4 in the car though.

If you organise it for a weekday in atleast 6 weeks advance. I can book day off to try to do same.

Train is £29 one way for me or £55 return, 2 changes and 4 hours to get there. Cheaper than I was expecting but it's be a long day!

Looking at returns last train is at 4.30, suppose I best stay in a cheap B&B to have enough time at B3 to make it worth the trip

I could well be interested Bruce but I am now in east Anglia so not sure how would work but certainly have a car big enough for the journey possible a train would be a better idea??? All meet in London and go from there, hell of a lot of driving for someone from south to Nottingham and back in a day.

Motty and 'Thunderball' how does this work for you?

If us three 'softies' can sort ourselves outm then some of you foreigners can meet us there!

I'm gonna dust off the Northern trump card with Durham  ;)

I'm interested in coming, provided it's not the wife's weekend at work and I haven't got anything on I'll attend. Good sized car and happy to drive. I can pick people up on the way if anyone is interested? I was going to go to the birthday event but was on holiday! Will check with the wife and update!

Dave, I wasn't planning on this being a massive meet up. Originally it was going to be 3 or 4 of us coming up from the South to have a look around if any of the staff had time to show us anything.

I had suggested the 14th and am waiting on confirmation from Charliemott and Tim.

No need to lay on the Pork Pies for us, but if someone had time to show us round, that would be great.

Anyone from the South wanting to join us make yourselves known, and if we can agree the 14th of course any of you grime-encrusted Northerners could meet us there (although we will be counting our jewellery).

Has this petered out into nothing then?
Title: Re: Southern Softies Road Trip to B3
Post by: FattusCattus on March 08, 2015, 09:13:54 PM
Yup - it basically petered out because no-one from the Southern Softies was free to go, or was able to confirm any dates.

You know what Walter and the Softies are like - we won't travel past Watford unless we can travel together in a herd for safety!

It may revive again once we can get 3 or 4 in a car.
