Title: Spartan repair
Post by: tom line on March 01, 2015, 09:39:31 PM
Recently got asked by a friend of mine whether I could repair this spartan he had the whole corner had come off the bat but luckily he had kept the piece so made the repair slightly easier

I then glued back in the piece

After this I sanded the whole bat down so the fix was flush.
After this I dowelled the bat with 3 dowels (2 from the edge and one through the toe)
Then final sanded and polished the bat. I binded the tow just for the added security and taped over it.
Here is the result let me know what you think.

If you put two dowels through the edge and one up the toe, wouldn't you be drilling through some of the dowels you'd already put in?  ???

No I made sure they didn't pass through each other. Two went high through the crack on the edge and one at a low angle through the toe
