Wanted to try out a bat from SS (been using RNS and a SG so far) and decided to buy an economical one from SS. Just to try out in the nets.
Turns out this pings better than both the others. Surely, to what's dished out in India, this has better finish than both the RNS as well as the SG Sunny Tonny.
Weighs 2.9 with 40 mm edges and I can count 8 grains. Not really bothered with dimensions except that I wanted something in the range of 2.8 - 2.9 and wasn't a plank.
Today's forex conversion, cost me around 55 pounds (5250 Indian Rupees)
What I got for the price I paid, looks like will stick to SS henceforth :)

Looks like a nice bat for 55 pounds, where did you buy it from?

Let's be fair, any English willow bat @ £55 is a steal. Looks good.

A friend shipped it from Meerut

Looks great, big fan of SS bats

That's some bargain!

Thats a lovely bat!! Always helps to have someone who can get it from Meerut and send it over!

Season's started and using this now. Netted in a couple of sessions, and used it in a match.
How long before the bat's fully knocked in, all effort & the ball wouldn't cross the 30 yard circle!
Hope this doesn't turn out to be a plank, else need to get out shopping for a new one :D

My experience with SS Orange bat made me hate that brand. Severe handle vibration (with single grip) and average ping. When used in nets it definitely worked well for me but when i started sharing the bat with other for practice the toe cracked completely within a matter of few practice sessions.
I have a SS Maximus which performs really well. No vibration, excellent ping and a well timed ball does race to boundary with the Maximus. Mixed bag of results with SS .

You are probably right. Don't think I would recommend SS for a lower grade bat. My grade 3 RNS was a gun from day 1 to be honest.
Will probably try a BDM now.
