Title: Newbery KUDOS 2
Post by: Paddy Knott on March 10, 2015, 08:23:42 PM
Hi guys haven't posted in a while!

Has anyone had one of these? Really like the shape of them, considering getting one.
Is talisman still on the forum? I remember him saying something about being able to get his hands on Newbery...

Cheers

I've got a B&S GP274, they are top quality for the cost

Much more expensive than an original Kudos if you are looking at 'player' grade.
I find it odd that the difference between the Kudos 1 (£275) and Kudos 2 (£350) in player grade is £125, however the difference between the two bats at SPS grade is £25 (£400 for the Kudos 1, £425 for the Kudos 2).

I went to see IJC yesterday and they have some. First time I've seen them in the flesh and tapping up with the mallet they do make a different sound to normal. Assume this down to their brand new "pressing technique". Impressed with them, picked up nice and they looked great.

A lad I know had a custom made one. It is an absolute rocket.

Whatever they did, wow, this one goes.

Surely you would just buy a B&S for £265 though??

Why is the B&S Pollock bat being so obviously compared with the Kudos 2, rather than other bats?

One would presume they are implying that like all bats...apparently. ... They are all made by tk..

Plus it's a forum. If someone asks for views on a Newbury. You can't actually comment about a Newbury, you have to mention something else completely.

Fair enough, just seemed odd that this bat was automatically met with a "just buy a B&S GP247" as if the bats were identical but with different stickers.

Read the GP274 thread in the B&S section. It's not a secret or conspiracy, Gary tells you who makes them

I'm sure it's not, but just because the same person makes two different bats for different brands it doesn't mean they are identical.  Does it?

eeeerrrmmm, isn't that 75 quid difference, not 125? ;)

Correct, got confused multi-tabbing.  The point still stands though!

Not always no, but in this case, they are.

In that case - buy the B&S.  Cheaper, £40 to a good cause and limited to 100 bats.

Probably best not to mention his name on here.... :-/
