I know there has been lot of discussion about how much heavier the new Masuri helmets are comared to the 2012/2013 versions.
I want to get one of the new VS versions but was wondering if there is any difference in weight between the VS Elite and VS Test (both in Titanium).
The VS Elite appears to have more metal in the grill - does this make it heavier than the equilivent VS Test?
Any feedback appreciated.

That'll be 1g then. Thanks.

So how much does it weight? I am really interested in getting the Masuri Test Titanium...

Thank you Vitas! :)

I tried a new GN one over the weekend and I couldn't believe how heavy that was too.
It isn't surprising that cook changed to his old lid.
I am really concerned about the weight of the kids lids too. It is really hard for a young batsman to keep there eyes level as it is and this really won't help.
A lightweight model is a must, especially for kids in my view.
Lots of people have said that once you use the new lids you don't notice. I understand that, but am not convinced.

Having wandered around the shop in the new lids for what must be hours collectively over recent months, i can honestly say there isn't much noticeable difference once on your head. The new Masuris in particular feel heavy when held, but this is probably more about the balance than overall weight.
Adidas Adizero is lighter than even my old Masuri Ti WK helmet.
I agree the kids Masuri club is on the weighty side, the new GM Purist Geo is a good lighter option for kids.

Thanks Jake. My son has an old style masuri with a ti grille at the moment... Spoilt brat that he is. I find it amazing that the grilles on the kids lids are the same size as adult ones.

So are your kids kids under or overweight?
And what do you discuss using kids for exactly? ???

Effing phone and predictive text.

Once one of the new helmets is on, the weight issue is soon forgotten.
However if it has to be a light helmet then the new Shrey Masterclass models are lighter than any of the Grays, Masuri or GM models.

Just to answer the original question the Elite Titanium is just 4 grams heavier than the Test Titanium model.

Has anyone used the stainless steel VS for long periods? Interested in opinions on weight, comfort etc. now that the helmet has been in circulation for a while. Interested in views both from batting and fielding close perspectives.

Scored a few hundered runs in mine now and kept in it a little too, and to be honest i don't notice the weight difference from my old Masuri, the main thing I've noticed is the ventilation on the new ones seem to be particularly poor. I have been sweating a lot more in the new one than the old.

Cheers! Just to confirm, is that with the heavier stainless steel or titanium?
