Title: Gray Nicolls Legend 2012/13 Wicket Keeping Gloves
Post by: Boydie on March 21, 2015, 03:47:45 PM
I'm desperately searching for a pair of the 2012/2013 version of the Gray Nicolls Legend Wicket Keeping gloves.  Both my pairs of these have been refaced so many times the leather beneath the palm is wearing away.  I can't get on with the new version of the legends at all.

These are the ones I'm after:

If anyone could point me in the direction of a shop, forum sponsor or member that might have these kicking about I'd be very grateful.

Looks like he has the more recent model to me mate.

The ones you are after are like rocking horse poo i'm afraid Boydie. I have searched long and hard myself over the past 18 months or so. I did find a pair to replace my knackered ones, but got soft and gave them to our Aussie as a leaving present a while back.

Quick someone ask Foakes where he got his new looking ones from. Do you reckon he grabbed a load a few years back!

Got a reply from Ben Foakes. He confirmed he is using 2012 Legends but says that they are new and GN are still making them. I dont know if that just for him but he said that they should be available anybody.
I'll be sending GN a polite enquiry to see how many they have knocking about and if they are available for us mere mortals.

They aren't on Gray Nicolls stock system, so i doubt they are available. If anywhere they will be in GN's professionals cupboard, if thats the case i'll get a set for myself but I'm unlikely to be able to help anyone else :(

Got an expected reply from GN.
They said they dont sell direct to the public and they dont have any in stock. They sent me the link to the list of all their retailers.
It was worth a try though.

They're handmade by Geoff Plimmer, I think Chris Read is the only keeper not wearing sponsored gloves now.

He uses GM pads.
