Title: Indian Brand pads
Post by: gazr5 on March 29, 2015, 12:39:51 PM
Hi all,

May be  in the market for some new pads come my birthday and was looking at some of the ones on Online Stockist. I've used small mens for the past few years and like the size. I know that Indian brands like SG and SS are small mens in terms of glove size but is the same true for pads also?

No its not for pads unless you ask for other than adult size. In my opinion, both SG and SS makes superb quality softs, and you wont go wrong with either.

I have the SF Triumph pads and gloves. Very happy with both, and the finishing on the products is very high.

Wow £72 for all of that! I do like those bat cases with the foam cut-out - was that included too?

I have used quite a few SS gloves but the Gladiator and Millennium Pro ones are definitely not small mens.I have decent sized hands and they fit me well. I have used SS test ones 3 or 4 years ago and they were a bit small. I recently bought the BAS players edition gloves and they are definitely small mens.

Yea. That's available with almost all the top end indian & pak bats. Nice perk when you are travelling-keeps the bat snug & safe.
Dimensions of the kit bag are 100*40*40
Gloves are english pittard Palm.
Pads are wickedly padded on the inside,as in the straps & knee locater.
Do comment on the bat.

I think SG bats have improved a lot this year. they have better fuller profiles, bat pressing is more like SS and Huge bats for the weight.

I have a SS Gladiator & a BDM Dynamic but got to tell you folks, this SG bat is among the best I've ever used.
It's just 40mm edged & 60mm spine but has no concaving & the elongation of the sweet spot must be evident from the image. Sweet spot starts just 3' from the toe.
You guys must check this one at the stores if available.

The grains on the bat look great.

I think I need to get to India to buy stuff like that.

How is the quality of the softs?

Recently got a SG.....love the profile but bit higher spine it would be perfect and a bit softer press on willow is lacking.

It would definitely worth a trip if you intend to buy a whole kit & on my word - you'd probably challenge a lot of top of the line stuff out there at less than half the price. I know, hard to believe but no one can deny that.

Which SG bat you bought mate ?? Anything above the King Cobra & you shouldn't be disappointed. If you really got bucks to shell out, try SG Sunny Legend bat once. Costs around 200 quid here & the willow for weight ratio is WICKED ( ain't over dried to my experience )
